Today’s Must Read Posts on the Montana Legislature
More connections between the legislative philosophy of Derek Skees and Rick Breckenridge (R-TEA Whitefish Kalispell, the major sponsor of the conference that featured white supremacists neo nazis and militia leaders are reviewed at the Flathead Memo, with video.
And over at Intelligent Discontent, where pretty much everything is a “must-read” Pogie gives us a look into the training of the minds that make our laws in two posts. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
UPDATE: The Flathead Beacon has the story of Peterson’s rebuke of Skees, with a transcript.

Wow! Um, neither one of these dudes, the Skeester or his pal, lil’ ricky, seem to be all that bright. I mean, the skeester even admitted as much. But just what is the story on lil’ ricky? Anybody know where this dude is from? And boy, how BOUT them Indians?! Seems that lil’ ricky don’t like him Ms. Pretty On Top. In fact, he seemed to fairly spit out here name with contempt! That’s not very nice now, is it? If lil’ ricky don’t like Indians, he should just come right out and say it!
And his “argument”! To aid repubbies in re-districting?? Well, I give him an “A” for balls but an “F” for brains! I’m thinkin’ that I never HEARS such a stupid argument before in the Lege. No WONDER he’s the Skeester’s best buddy!
Scary is that these two bozos are allowed anywhere NEAR the legislative process. ‘Course, I think that the Skeester’s pretty much already made a name for himself. GOOFY! I’m thinkin’ that he made a deal with Hinkle prior to the start of the session to see who could come up with the goofiest bill! It’s gonna be a toss up near as I can tell, but this supreme court one is ’bout as goofy as I can remembr in a long time!
Thank GOD the Skeester moved here to Montana to save us! We should all be grateful for that! I mean, a self-admitted uneducated dude who can’t even run his own business is JUST the person to pull our state out of the financial doldrums! Makes perfect sense to me!
Well Skees did admit he was not the cream of the intellectual world. And Rick Breckenridge wants to mess with re districting. But in the mean time what about justice? What about the United States Constitutional right to a fair and speedy trial? Also Montana is a death penalty state and Montana is one of the few states where the state supreme court is the only court of appeal. These things have to be taken into consideration as well. Also we do have a death penalty case coming up to a close if you will and what will we do during those death penalty cases, and couldn’t in criminal cases a defendat then argue that he was not given a fair and speedy trial if this bill passes? Henceforth getting his or her case dismissed with prejudice. Now granted Im not a lawyer but to me this looks like a constitutional issue, and I thaught that Skees and his ilk were all about defending the constitution.
