Rehberg Gotsta’ Get Paid

Denny Rehberg, soon to be retired from public office, with his favorite beverage.Millionaire congressman Dennis Rehberg is scrambling to spin his vote against a measure that would have prevented him from getting a paycheck if he shuts down the federal government.  Despite Rehberg’s attempt to spin the truth, his vote against the measure was a vote allowing members of Congress to keep getting paid during a shutdown.

The non-partisan, Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-check website Politifact is confirming Rehberg’s vote to keep giving himself paychecks during a shutdown.

Senator Jon Tester led the charge in the Senate to prevent pay for members of Congress during a Republican government shutdown.  The legislation unanimously passed the Senate.

But when Rehberg and the House of Representatives took up the measure last Friday, Rehberg voted against it (see the vote for yourself HERE).

As much as they should all not get paid, what I rather see is during a shut down all special Corporate deals stop. All profits during a shut down gets taxed at the full rate. Between B Of A,Koch Industries and the oil coompanies we could get enough to make a dent in the deficit

    WOMEN AND DOPEY REEBURP FIRST!

Wow! Simply wow! When the economic titanic is slowly sinking, and average folks a scurrying looking for anything that will float, where do we find the Dopester? HIDING in the lifeboat in women’s clothing! Remember him from the movie?

Geez, what a slimeball! Not even a SYMBOLIC gesture! And the dude’s got MILLIONS! (all inheritied of course) Guess that’s what privilege does to a person. I wouldn’t know, since I wasn’t born with a spoon in the mouth like Dopey was! Guess it’s that same sense of entitlement that makes Dopey SUE the freakin’ fire dept without the least bit of guilt or remorse. Guess that’s what makes Dopey Dopey! He’s a turd! And he don’t care who knows it! A spoiled little inherited rich turd suckin’ off Unca Sugar who actually BELEIVES that he’s entitled to every last drop of OUR money he can suck outta Unca Sugarteat! Like Dopey and his Teatard pals love to say, HEY, if you want his job, RUN for it! That’s little Dopey’s Kochroach philosophy. Dopey’s got his, so to HELL with you! Right, Dopey?

Leaders lead from the front. Dopey Reeburp leads from his rear. It’s where he keeps his head too!

    For Lynn: another Kochtale.

p.s. I see that Dopey Reeburp belongs to the SLASH DON’T TAX Kockroach school of economics! Dopey would rather SLASH funds for all programs that people actually need so that he doesn’t have to TAX his Kock brother billionaire buddies! Yes, there IS no clearer definition of slimeball.

It truly IS incredible that folks haven’t oiled up the old guillotines yet! The Kock brothers must be counting on their private armies to keep them safe. Or better yet, as in wis-CON-SIN, the national guard! How convenient. THAT way, the Big Kocks don’t even have to PAY for security! The Big Kocks put the con in wisCONsin with their purchase of little snot wanker.

The most dangerous dudes in the old west were the desperados, or more accurately, the des- (without) esperar (hope). They should have been called desesperados, or those without hope.

And that’s exactly where we’re headed. When folks have nothing to lose, they become very dangerous to those that have and control EVERYTHING! ie., One percent of the populaton controlling ninety percent of the wealth! This is NOT a situation designed to ehance peace. It’s only going to get worse. We are following the Latin American model. So far, it’s been a relatively bloodless coup.

But as the article above mentions, now it’s a matter of life and death for many folks. What will we ALL do when nursing homes start to close and the sick, elderly and infirm are kicked to the street, etc. Are the Kock brothers gonna take them in outta the goodness of their “hearts”? Or do we put them in jails as we did the mentally ill when st. ronnie closed the mental institutions?

It’s comin’. Which side are you on, boys? Which side are you on?

Rehberg is scum, but when they should have been passing a budget Tester (seemingly schooled by Baucus) was satisfied w/ the status quo in the Senate, he said the filibuster worked just fine…

      • Cheryl

That’s quite a stretch you’re making, Rehberg’s voting record is nothing new—he was just as slimy when Burns was enjoying his “raghead” days.

        • Rob Kailey

How is that a stretch, Cheryl? In a post, specifically about how Rehberg protecting his own salary, you post a completely useless non-sequiter about Jon Tester. Maybe you flunked civics, but the budget begins with the President passing it to the House. The only thing the House passed to the Senate last year was a continuing budget that required the lifting of the debt ceiling. So most assuredly, according to you, this budget crisis is Jon Tester’s fault, and hence Denny Rehberg had to vote against himself not getting paid because it’s Jon Tester’s fault. Of course, Jon Tester submitted the bill that Congress would not get paid if the government shut down, and Denny voted against that when it went to the House. So most assuredly, in Green Think, it’s Jon Tester we should be concerned with.

So yes, for the sake of the Greens, let’s not forget to blame the Democrats for Reghberg’s self-interested voting.

And you actually think I’m the one “stretching”? Hehehehehhehhehahhahahahhah

          • Cheryl

Apparently what you think you heard is not what I said. From your pattern of personal attacks I can only conclude your prejudice prevents you from comprehending what I actually said. Or maybe you’re just trying to compensate for a tiny little dick. No need for such contortions– I concede, yours is surely bigger than mine.

            • Rob Kailey

Or … I pegged it spot on the money, and you’re flailing around looking for any way possible to dismiss my critique. Including, of course, but not limited too, your complete ignorance of a rather long history of writing about our broken Senate and the filibuster, your selective view of my “pattern of insult”, your complete lack of self-awareness given the context of the post, and last but certainly not least, your headlong rush into sexist bullshit.

          • Cheryl

Of course we wouldn’t want Congress getting paid if they shut the government down instead of doing their job. But, although you may approve of the way the filibuster was used over the last couple years, there are many many of us (and you are in denial if you think it’s only Greens) who are not happy about the way not enough was done, even though there was a Democratic President and Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate. Part of the ineffectiveness of the Senate, and therefore our government overall, was due to the misuse of the filibuster. Part of the reason we had health insurance reform so anemic it made Nixon’s proposals look leftist, part of the reason we had an inadequate stimulus, tax cuts extended for the wealthy while the poor people’s taxes go up and social security damage for the rest of us, and now these draconian cuts that will shrink our economy, part of the reasons we still have torture, secret black prison sites, indefinite detention without charges, and numerous other unacceptable continuations of the Bush atrocities and ever-increasing infringements on our civil rights are due to the filibuster being used as an excuse for our Senators to do nothing. So Tester’s cute little gesture here was only symbolic: more talk that doesn’t make a damn. A nice little talking point to show that he’s better than Denny Rehberg. Some of us think we deserve more than just “better than Denny Rehberg.”

You can’t really blame him. Ya gotta keep the attorney retainer paid in full while your suing fire fighters.

I wonder how long people are gonna take this shit before they blow a cork? I know some very tough old working men who are well into their sixties and still laying bricks and carrying hod. One of the remarked the other day that he would get his money owed him outta them (ie. the government) one way or the other. And he wasn’t joking.

People are getting really mad when they see that the teatards like Reeburp are trying to steal the money that they’ve worked hard for their entire lives. They are NOT entitlements, but wages owed to them!

These dumb bastard rich dudes are gonna have to live in gated compounds with blackwater guards just like in S. America before this is all over. If folks have nothing to lose, they’re gonna ACT like they have nothing to lose and exact a little revenge. Like the old bricklayer said, “at LEAST in jail I’ll have food, shelter, and medical care”.

Now, I’m not saying that that’s the right attitude to have, but when you see the billionaires raking in ALL the wealth that we should all be sharing, it’s definitely on people’s minds! Somehow, I DON’T think that the fifth richest dudes in the world, the Kock brothers, do a fifth of the work for the entire world!

Sumthin’s happenin’ here, and what it is is becomin’ quite clear. There’s a man with a billion over there, and for the rest of us he just don’t care. Better stop children what’s that sound everybody look what’s goin’ round.

“I wonder how long people are gonna take this shit before they blow a cork?”

You mean they will get tired of Harry Reid not passing a budget last October like every other congress has done?

  8. problembear

looks like tester is painting rehberg into a corner and rehberg is simple (greedy) enough to fall for it.

but then, anybody who sues his own fire dept after saving his property obviously has no scruples or ability to think.

can’t wait for tester to point out rehberg’s voting record next fall. veterans- no. women- no. personal austerity in a time of budget restrictions- no. i am beginning to wonder just what constituency rehberg hasn’t insulted during his career.

  9. Jedediah Redman

Picayune describes the Democrats just as well stody describes Republicans. When Jon Tester seems somebody to brag about there is no need to go back to the well.

“Rehberg’s heartlessness spans decades: in 1994, Newsweek reported that Rehberg, in defense of state budget cuts to hospitals, said “the problem with AIDS is: you get it, you die. So why are we spending money on the issue?” … An adamant supporter of the Iraq war, he voted against a bill to give troops mandatory rest periods between deployments.”

Does anyone remember way back in the late eighties when Denny was in the state leg. or luet.governor. He was part of the effort to change one word in the Montana constitution. From every child shall have a quality education to every child “may” have a quality education. The purpose of the change was to allow schools to not have to serve disabled children. It has stuck in my mind all these years because of its pure black hearted nature.

  12. Courtney

Oh Denny, Really? So you’re the 10th richest US Congressman, but you really “need” your paycheck when you were willing to put a million government workers out of a job? You’re an asshole.
