Schweitzer Burns GOP with Red-Hot Cattle Iron

It was a bad day for a few hapless Republican legislators in Montana Wednesday. These young guns from the GOP, who had excitedly volunteered, upon entering the legislature, to carry some of the flagship legislation for the Tea Party, got their hind ends burned with a red-hot poker.

Indeed, their dreams of legislative glory ended in a blaze of smoke and fire on the steps of the Montana Capitol today as the Governor pulled out his branding iron and burned a giant VETO onto a pile of Tea Party bills. It is unlikely that the GOP will be able to override any of the vetoes.

Schweitzer Vetoes HB 306

Here is the raw VIDEO of the event.

Some of these right-wing idiot legislators even wandered outside as the party was getting going, not comprehending what all the smoke in the air was from until they saw their bill number on the branding board.

The bills were classic GOP crap, including: a voter suppression bill, which tried to make it harder for people register to vote; a bill to permit the use of cyanide by large gold mining companies (companies that funded many of the GOP legislators campaigns); a bill to give sheriffs authority over the federal government in terror investigations; and a bill to overturn a voter-approved initiative to allow seriously ill patients to use marijuana legally.

Here are a few more choice photos among those making the rounds on Facebook today.

The Teatards learned a lesson ’bout messin’ with a REAL Montana cowboy! He don’t NEED no “code” to tell him what to do. He just got-R-done! I think that the southern contingent lead by Gen. Robert E. Skees now has ANOTHER little defeat to reenact! They got their asses kicked AGAIN! Ouch! Dumb bastards made one teensy tiny fatal mistake. THIS AIN’T WISCONSIN, you inbred bozos! We got us a REAL guv!

And on a personal note to the Kock brothers. Yeah, you can TAKE IT PERSONALLY, you no good nazis! Now, how you gonna like it is Schweitzer runs for prez?!!!!!

    Montana 1, Birchers 0!

Maybe the Teatards could have their OWN little publicity stunt! I’m thinkin’ maybe another western tradition, a Rocky Mountain OYSTER feed! Heck, what ELSE ya gonna do with all them leftover nuts? They could show folks all them nutty bills whilest servin’ up deep fried oysters! How bout it, Peterson? You code boys up for a little oyster feed? Oysters and maybe a little beer for cryin’ in! It’s ’bout all you morons got left!!

    • “I think that the southern contingent lead by Gen. Robert E. Skees now has ANOTHER little defeat to reenact!”

I probably shouldnt encourage you but that was damn funny.

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers | April 14, 2011 10:39 AM at 10:39 AM |

Jack, I’m of the belief that when folks are total *ssholes and funny as hell anyway, we should LAFF at them. I mean, they may as well be of some use! My relatives always told me that I was a great bad example for the other kids. See, I was useful in my own way. And really, the humor writes itself with these bozos.

And I get a kick out of all the whiney Pubbie/Teatard responses to the branding in the papers this a.m. My GOD what a bunch of whiners our nazis are! They really should be made of sterner stuff! I mean, if you’re tough enough to secede, you OTTER be tough enough to take a leetle branding iron on the butt!! sigh. What wimps.

    • gen robert e. skees…..that’s damn good humor there.

  2. I wish he would’ve castrated too – I have a few choice nominations for him.

Fraid I wouldn’t stay for THAT Oyster party tho……GAG

  3. Golly! Gee Whilikers! Its as though we had elected P. T. Barnum governor.

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers | April 14, 2011 7:56 AM at 7:56 AM |

You got THAT right, dude! And wasn’t it Barnum who said that there’s a Teatard born every minute? Oh wait, that’s a FOOL born every minute. I get the two mixed up!

True story. Folks came from all over to see Barnum’s displays. They would come in and STAY, some not leaving in a timely fashion. So, ol’ P.T. had to devise a way to get them out so that other paying customers could come in. What’d he do?

Well, he knew that most of his customers were NOT too sophisticated. (ie. like the Teatards here in Mt.) And he had signs over he doors indicating what attraction lay inside, ie. they bearded lady, the india rubber man, jojo the monkey boy.) SO, what he did was put a big sign over one door bolding proclaiming, TO THE EGRESS! Since most folks had NO idea what an egress was, they went in, and then out!

SCWHEITZER SHOWED THE TEATARDS THE EGRESS! And ya wanna know sumthin’? MOST Montanans think it’s about time!

So right you are, dude! Ya got a big ol’ point there! Jus’ too bad the Pubbies got nuthin’ in comparison, ain’t it? But HEY, you DO have some great oddities! ie. Birther Bob, Jumbo Jimmy Knoxious, Pope Wendy, Spearchucker hinkle! Maybe you dudes could open a circus!! It’s worth a try!

      • Your people, sir, is a great beast.
And not that much has changed, I guess.

        • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers | April 14, 2011 10:32 AM at 10:32 AM |

You got THAT right! In fact, I possess the mark of the beast! It’s called a brain, jay. Sorry that you fundiwackmentalists aren’t so blessed! But hey, not to worry. Us secular atheist humanists will look out for you dudes to when it comes to health care etc., that is as long as we don’t get raptured first! In which case, last one there’s a rotten egg!

          • Would that what you say would be true, Mr. Kralj!
But Schweitzer’s shenanigans has just brought the executive back to about the same intellectual level it enjoyed when Judy Martz was washing clothes for her drunken staff…

  4. I have no idea how any rational person can think of the Medical Cannabis Repeal bill as a Tea Party Bill. If anything Schweitzer’s veto should’ve been seen as a *win* for those who want job growth/less regulation/freedom to choose what you put in your body/protection of Montana’s newest billion-dollar industry. Just sayin’ playa.

    • While I agree that the repeal bill isn’t something typically associated with early tea party principles, the tea party in Montana has been hijacked by religious wackos. Even last year, local tea party groups were calling for the repeal, gathering petition signatures, etc. The leaders of the tea party claim that the repeal is personal for them and not associated with the tea party but they used their groups’ full email lists to spread the word about the need for repeal.

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers | April 14, 2011 2:30 PM at 2:30 PM |

The Teatards are simply nuts, or useful idiots EXCEPT for the fact that they appear to be not even useful!

But the thing I really want to know is just WHERE the interests of the Kock brothers and those of the people of this country intersect? I would suggest that they don’t. The fifth richest dudes in the WORLD have NOTHING in common with the common man. They have been outed for the alternate government that they are which is attempting to replace our democracy with oligarchy. THIS is what the Teatards have aided and abetted. That’s all. Inbreds voting against their own best interests. Racists, hypocrites, morons and inbreds, NOT a recipe for good democratic governance as the world is discovering.

Jesse Ventura: Letter to the Ruling Class

You control our world. You’ve poisoned the air we breathe, contaminated the water we drink, and copyrighted the food we eat. We fight in your wars, die for your causes, and sacrifice our freedoms to protect you. You’ve liquidated our savings, destroyed our middle class, and used our tax dollars to bailout your unending greed. We are slaves to your corporations, zombies to your airwaves, servants to your decadence. You’ve stolen our elections, assassinated our leaders, and abolished our basic rights as human beings. You own our property, shipped away our jobs, and shredded our unions. You’ve profited off of disaster, destabilized our currencies, and raised our cost of living. You’ve monopolized our freedom, stripped away our education, and have almost extinguished our flame. We are hit… we are bleeding… but we ain’t got time to bleed. We will bring the giants to their knees and you will

I’m votin’ for Jesse for prez! I’ve always liked the guy anyway! Maybe Schweitzer and Jesse. Now THAT would be my dream ticket! Two guys who don’t know how to take crap from reetards.

          • Ventura was a truly intellectual beacon when he governed Minnesota. How did he compare then to your pal Judy Martz, doglap?

  5. The medical marijuana repeal bill was more religious right garbage than TEA Party garbage, nonetheless, repealing citizens initiatives?? These wingtards are so clueless as to the consequences of their votes, and the R moderates are powerless to stop them. Fascinating.

  6. Repealing medical marijuana was funded by the Beer Lobby and Big Pharma.. plus as a legistlator was heard saying, these people are making “real money” , they could donate to candidates in elections.

  7. Master showman, fun to watch. But do watch him closely when the cameras are off.

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers | April 14, 2011 8:40 AM at 8:40 AM |

And?? Profundity is short supply this a.m. is it? Better have another cup of joe. Just WHAT are we supposed to see when we can’t see him? Wow! Now THAT’S profound!……..proundly stupid!

      • Just WHAT are we supposed to see when we can’t see him?

His real agenda. It takes critical thinking skills and high skepticism. It’s called being a citizen.

        • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers | April 14, 2011 10:16 AM at 10:16 AM |

Just teasin’ a bit, Mark. Keeps us all from getting a big head. It’s kinda like Native American humor, if you’ve ever been around them. They’re funny as hell, and use humor to keep everyone from gettin’ full of themselves. Hell, I welcome it!

    • And you’d rather have Rick Scott, Scott Walker, Chris Christie in the Gov. Office?

      • Well, when the ones you name are in office, you are more alert, aren’t you?

I’m not good at communicating with Democrats, my fault, I’m sure, but I will try again: When Democrats hold office, you guys fall asleep, and worse things happen to us than when Republicans hold office and you are alert.

If Republicans had pushed Obama’s health care plan, you would have been opposed to it. See how it works? It’s called traingu …. ah, never mind. As you were.

        • While you may have some what of a point in the broader scheme, if we are referring to the specific topic of this thread then you are wrong. If a republican were currently in office as our State governor then ‘worse things’ would certainly be happening to us. Do you think all of these ridiculous bills would have been vetoed? I do seem to remember Racicot vetoing a bill or two from the teabagger/militia gene pool pre-cursors back in the 90s but that was when these loons were still outliers in the Republican party not the ones running things…What do you think Roy Brown/Rick Hill/ Ken Miller et al would do the same if they held the office right now?

        • I would have been for any health care plan that works, The present health care plan needs major tweaking, like a public option or something that stops the for profit companies from raping America.

In most other countries, Health Care Companies can’t make a profit on Basic care, just the Cadallic plans etc. Only here where they have the FREEDOM to rip people off legally.

Max lost my vote for selling out to United Health Care when he had the chance to do something good.

          • All right then. You know what’s up. Say that you were in the desert and thirsty and dying and Obama flew over and dropped a parachute ten miles away that had some water, but you’d have to spend moe liquid to get it than you would recover. Would you say his rescue attempt “needed tweaking?”. If it was Bush you’d say he screwed you. Because it’s Obama, it’s a daring rescue attempt.

            • Your so smart you know what every one thinks………about everything

              • I know this much: When Obama says he passed health care reform, it’s an Emperor’s new clothing moment – he passed a shitty bill, playing a weakling until he was sure that the bill the the insurance companies wanted was in place. Then he got tough and shoved it down our throats. Turns out he wasn’t weak after all! Turns out he knew out to negotiate after all! It’s just that his enemies were the progressives. He really stuck it to us.

You know this if you have eyes. All I am is the voice of a little child saying your emperor is quite naked.

  10. We are one of 2 countries in the World that allows Big Pharma to advertise. Those advertisments are mainly directed at Seniors. The Medical establishment wants them to over use Services and drugs. So they can abuse Medicare.

One of the questions for our next congress person should be will you support , re-writing Medicare part D to a model like the VA uses.

  11. Just heard Schweitzer’s VETO party was just on Rachel Maddow! Who has the video?

  12. Wow! I am really thrilled to read this story. I’m originally from Wisconsin and am about to throw myself off a cliff because of the right-wing nonsense happening there. I have vowed not to spend a dime of my tourist dollars in my home state this summer (I am a teacher and have time, though not a lot of money, to travel). I just e-mailed my teacher friends and told them I have our summer destination set: Montana! Any one have a list of must-dos in your state? Also, if anyone can send your governor’s address I will send him a hand-written thank you note for doing his part to preserve democracy. What a guy!
