Rick Hill’s Campaign Banned from Editing Wikipedia Page
Wikipedia has temporarily blocked edits to its Rick Hill article after someone inside the campaign tried to erase references to some particularly-controversial Rick Hill scandals.
Early last week, the user cdenowh, who presumably is Rick Hill’s campaign operative Chuck Denowh, was banned from editing Rick Hill’s article on the “free encyclopedia anyone can edit” after a series of biased postings–and relentless whitewashes.
The shutdown warning cited a problem with bias, saying that:
A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia’s content policies, particularly neutral point of view.
Hill’s campaign had attempted to remove the portion of the page that currently reads:
When he was running for re-election in 2000 shortly before Hill dropped out of the race citing eye-sight problems, it was reported in the New York Times that Hill had attacked his opponent, Chief State Schools Officer Nancy Keenan, for “lacking an understanding of family values” because “she has no children of her own.” Keenan responded she had a hysterectomy after cancer as a young woman. [2]
The campaign was also frantic to remove information about the details surrounding Hill’s extramarital affair with a cocktail waitress, which have recently resurfaced in a series of emails from religious conservatives. Before the Rick Hill campaign’s edits, the page contained this information, (screenshot) which Hill’s campaign repeatedly removed.
The sources were listed here, but Hill’s campaign repeatedly removed both the language and the source material.

When are Dumb and Dumber going to figure out that you can’t hide the truth from the people of Montana. This is pretty pathetic Rick. If you can’t take the heat, you shouldn’t have slept with that cocktail waitress while you were a married man forchrissake! And shooting your mouth off about your family values? You own those remarks douchebag. It’s your own fault.
Dan,
I don’t think I’d be calling Rick dumb when you can’t even spell, for Christ’s sake…
If you would have taken the time to actually look at that story on Rick’s divorce, he didn’t sleep with anyone while he was married. He was going through a divorce and if labeling people who have gone through divorces as without family values is what you intend to do you might as well not stop with Rick Hill because guess what, over 33% of the American population has been through the same situation…and it’s not because they have a lack of family values.
What’s more, Rick has been happily married to his current wife for somewhere near 30 years, raised a family, and has a bunch of grandchildren.
Dan, you need to check your facts before you go making wild assumptions…
Whaaa the Faaaaa? Lil’ ricky DIDN’T sleep with his mermaid while he was married?? Do you have PROOF of that lie, Ms. Besameculo? Din’ THINK so! BTW, we’re you THERE the night ricky and the mermaid were gettin’ fishy? If not, how would you KNOW, Ms. Besameculo, whether or not ricky got any tail? Kinda nosey, ain’t ya? Seems that ricky’s wife pretty much laid THAT lie to rest while’st rick was layin’ sumthin’ else!
As progressives, we really need to stop attacking Rick Hill and start attacking the other candidates. Rick Hill is the most beatable of the field in the general election, and by attacking him now, we make our chances of electing a democrat to the seat WORSE, not better.
I called Rick Hill dumb, and a pathetic douchebag for lots of reasons, and if you could read Fe you would see there are so many to choose from, what about the worker compensation disaster – the Most Expensive System in America – that Rick Hill thinks is a braggable accomplishment. Incredible.
Gutter-snipery seems terribly in vogue on this forum.
Ain’t it grand? Oh, not the guttersnipery, but to have SUCH material to work with as lil’ Ricky, the merman? Look, harold, this stuff writes itself! All we do is put it into words! Hey, if the Dems have such dudes as Merman, snipe away if you think you can. But alas, you don’t have much to work with on the Dem side. That’s why you guys can’t use humor. All you got is Aynus Rant. And SHE ain’t funny!
Harold-ask rick hill, next time you seem him, about the TRIAD memo.
Let me get this straight harold – if a man cheats on his wife with a coctail waitress, we should elect him as our Governor, but if we tell someone else about it, it’s “gutter-snipery”?
What is the objective value of monogamy?
Ask John Wayne Bobbit! He found out the hard way ya don’t mess with mermaids!
Harold,I completely agree.
And Dan, in your case, your language is vulgar enough to qualify as “gutter- snipery”. Additionally, you have no excuse to call anyone dumb or otherwise, especially when your statements so clearly lack any factual basis.
In case you haven’t noticed, Rick Hill was the former head of the Montana State Fund nearly TWO DECADES ago and for only three years…during which time I might add he took it from a very large deficit (something close to $550 million in debt) to a $120 million dollar surplus. If your looking for the real culprits behind the current state of Montana’s Workers’ Comp then it might serve you well to look into who is ACTUALLY running it now, or at least take a good look at the last five to ten years.
