MSNBC: Fox Says Muppets are Brainwashing Kids

Fox News is ranting this week that the muppets are brainwashing kids, MSNBC reports this week.

The villain in “The Muppets” is Tex Richman, an oilman who wants to tear down the Muppets theater in order to drill for oil underneath.

The topic was debated on FOX’s “Follow the Money,” with a network host and two commentators saying big oil isn’t being treated fairly.

If you were under any illusions that watching Fox News was better than watching no news at all, its time to rid yourself of them now.

Here’s the original Fox clip:

Don’t doubt the power of Fox News, they are the ones that convinced America that a Republican-designed health care “reform” plan was socialist medicine “Obama-care.”

Faux News should stop brainwashing all the poor dim-witted TEA baggers who are dumb enough to believe this garbage. I mean it would be different if their audience had IQ’s within reaching distance of the normal range, but this just isn’t fairplay.

It’s important to remember that while violence in America is still quite high, the Muppets have contributed to a broader movement toward Peace on Earth.

Absoultly Fox News is right on this one, see Im in my 30s and the cartoon characters from when I was a kid encouraged us to become drug addicts, For example Yogi Bear was on marijuana the whole time, thats why he always had the munchies and wanted a picinic basket, and Bobo waa his marijuana supplier. Then you had Popeye he was smoking a crack pipe, and Olive Oile was on heroine, thats why she was so thin and thats why Popeye always seemed so distracted and was want to fight Bluto. And all of this created a generation of drug addicts. Don’t you believe me?

Running a mainstream Democratic blog and writing the things you do and then complaining about other people being brainwashed … Complete and utter lack of self-awareness.

    • And you exhibit a complete and utter lack of reading comprehension. This post isn’t complaining about other people being brainwashed. It’s ‘complaining’ about a so-called ‘news’ outlet telling people that a bunch of puppets are brainwashing our children.

I swear, Mark. That nose of yours is stuck so high in the air that your brain is suffering a lack of oxygen.

      • Mark Tokarski

Your idea that FOX is a “so-called news outlet” seems to indicate that you have a notion that other “news” outlets are better at their job. Fox serves more than one purpose. For one, its viewers are cpmpletely unaware of any criticism, as they are captive. They don’t go to any other source for news. They can be told anything and will believe it. This leads to great Daily Show footage which entirely misses what Fox is really doing.

The other part of Fox is perception management. Since they are so bad at heir job, what can we think but that the others are better at it? And this is the crack, the weakness that lets real propaganda do its jb.

It’s all beyond you, I know. I’m from another universe. You are pretty thick-headed about the subtleties of opinion management.

        • Yes, Mark. You are from another universe. The universe of “jb”, apparently.

How do you get your news, Mark? You apparently don’t get it from known news circles, so one has to ask. What exactly do you dream you know that the rest of us don’t, and have the same access to? Does your knowledge come from some fungi the rest of us are unclear about?

          You got jack-all, Tokarski.

I absorb. Everything floats, nothing is true until it lands and settles. Words mean nothing. Events are real, words are not. Deeds are real, parties mean nothing. You told me one time that one of Obama’s achievements was his promise to eliminate the Bush Tax Cuts. This is our difference – I was not swayed by words and waited for deeds. You bought in.

It’s very difficult, Rod, as at any given time we cannot know what is true. We have to use our brains, trust our judgment., and worst of all, at any given time, not know what we need to know to make a reasonable judgment. It is so much easier for a man like you, of authoritarian bent, who needs to be in-the-know at all times, to trust authority and at the same time try to exert authority, as best you can. You’re predictable and not terribly insightful. Kinda boring, tedious for sure.

It’s beyond you I know, but I only know a few things, but those few things are pivotal and rarely fail me.

          • ~facepalm~

Yes, Mark. Everything in your universe floats, just like your turds in a toilet bowl.

I ask you very direct questions and you remain too chickenshit to give even a resemblance of an answer.

            • Mark Tokarski

The authoritarian personality, unable to deal with nuance or things that are not black/white, attempts to reduce complexities to a simple question.

We don’t communicate because you cannot understand me. I’m not special, and many others do understand me quite well. But you don’t, and that is not my fault.

On the other hand, I get you. Piece of cake.

              • Mark, I understand you very well. You are a chickenshit. You still offer no answer.

              • Mark Tokarski

Not a CS, not hardly. Your inability to self-reflect is still your most endearing quality.

                • Again, no Mark. We fail to communicate because you don’t understand anyone who isn’t you, and you really don’t understand yourself well either.

I ask you direct questions with obvious answers because you will burn Heaven to dust in order to avoid giving them. (It’s called the Socratic method; you might want to look that up, someday.) Your avoidance says a great deal about you, and that’s why you focus your blame on me.

                  • Still no answers or even engagement. Aren’t you supposed to be tough against bullies? By your own admission, apparently not. You’re right, Mark. You are a lame ass.

And don’t call me Jesus …

                    • Mark Tokarski

In case you have not noticed, lame ass bully, I don’t engage you at all. I avoid you. When we interact at all, it is because you bait me. So go away, you sorry son of a bitch. You’re boring!

                    • You respond to me every single time I comment, Mark. How is that avoidance?

And don’t tell me what to do. You ain’t the boss of me, and you insult my mother unfairly.

                • Mark Tokarski

Socratic, eh. Sorry I didn’t catch that. I thought it was more like a bullying tactic, you know, like argue my way or shut up?

Socratic … Jesus you are a lame ass.
