DOH! Meet the Montana TEA Party’s Keystone Kops

Rep. Tom Burnett (R-Bozeman)

The Montana Commissioner of Political Practices rejected a complaint by TEA Party Republicans this week. They claimed that their voting records on public spending and personal largesse were misrepresented by local Democrats.

The TEA Party legislature tried to shut down the state by blocking education and jobs–claiming a fake budget crisis, but the facts shows Tea Party lawmakers grabbing from the government trough.

Rep. Tom Burnett, of Bozeman, and Rep. Cleve Loney, of Great Falls, had filed a complaint against a flyer that exposed the big bump in taxpayer-funded personal compensation they gave themselves–while cutting education, jobs, and food for Montana families.   In an attempt to hide their hypocrisy from their base of low information voters, Burnett and Loney tried to claim that the campaign materials were untrue.

Here’s where the story goes Keystone Kops.  It’s a classic case of TEA Party dysfunction and imbecility.  The law on which Burnett and Loney had tried to base their complaint–a law against misrepresenting voting records–has already been struck down in a case brought by the Tea Party-aligned Western Tradition Partnership, the OPP ruling shows.

Yeah, that’s the same Western Tradition Partnership that bought the election for idiots like Burnett and Loney. So even if the flyer was wrong (it isn’t), the very group that elected the TEA Partiers got a judge to block the law the OPP would have needed to correct the record.

  1. christian/anarchist militias are threats to Montana’s civil order: Missoulian.

@billmaher: “guys named Vern and Earl expect to take on FBI and Homeland Security.”

Think: Katrina, where armed white gunmen killed innocents because of a different skin color.

You may as well vote for the trained seal! Hey, there you go. That’s it. Neil has a seal, Bullock has a general! He outRANKS the seal! Good move, stevey!

HEY, the Pubbie Party’s PLATFORM is racism! It’s the best way to fill UP their big tent with racist morons! It’s their new motto! Virginia is for lovers, Montana for racist loons!

You see, LK, they PURPOSELY let slip every oncest in a while that the Pubs in Montana welcome racist loons! Oh sure, it may SEEM like an accident, but it really isn’t. They subtley, oh so subtley, put the word out there to all the inbreds that in Montana they’ll find a place for their hatred. It’s OK to be a racist here. It’s OK to talk about secession. And it’s OK to dream about a white homeland filled with inbred white supremnits!

And that’s real sad. But it’s the reality that we must deal with. And the Pubbies who foster this crap need to be called on it!

              See these Pubbie morons below:

I can’t WAIT for one of the inbreds in the Lege to sponsor a bill to put a leetle, teensy, tiny confederidiot flag in the corner of the Montana flag! Oro y Plato y Odio! You just KNOW they want to! I mean, if you’ve got actual goofball legislators PRANCING proudly around with the confederidiot flags sewn on their jackets, can such a bill be far behind? Remember, when S. Carolina was asked to remove theirs, sen. cornhole burns was ONLY one of the couple of senators that voted AGAINST it!

Such a proud moment for Montana! To have an indiot like cornhole for a senator! But the message was sent, and sent continually by cornhole that racists were welcome here!

  2. Perhaps he attended one of the “seminars” Rep. Derek Skees held at the local Perkins. Skees goes to toastmasters meetings so he is a great expert on logic (sarcasm).

  3. Burnett is a particularly dangerous R. He comes across as a nice guy, but his politics is toxic. He recently had an editorial in the GF Trib about kids and hunger. It’s rationally creepy.

  4. Toke, you called it:

“The 11 Democratic defections were Sens. Max Baucus (Mont.), Mark Begich (Alaska), Bob Casey (Pa.), Kent Conrad (N.D.), Kay Hagan (N.C.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Mark Pryor (Ark.), Jon Tester (Mont.) and Jim Webb (Va.).”

    That’s called “political cushion.”
