Schweitzer Talks Montana’s Fight Against Citizens United on Hardball

Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer was on Hardball tonight to talk about his support for a ballot initiative to ban corporate money in politics.  Here’s the video:

Montana is also leading the challenge to the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.  Montana AG Steve Bullock argued successfully against corruption in the Montana Supreme Court, which upheld the state’s century-old ban on corporations’ spending. The case is now before the Supreme Court for a possible summary judgment.

Corporations are not people.  Find out more about the Stand with Montanans campaign online here

What’s not to like about that? While we’ve got a the Seven Pubbie Mental Dwarfs runnin’ around putting on a clown show, and Dopey Reeburp fighting to keep CEEment Jaysus on public land, guys like Schweizter are doin’ the heavy lifting!

That was an incredible interview. I thought I was listening to old TR, Teddy Roosevelt himself! Way to go, Guv. Thank you for fighting for us!

And BTW, it’s true. People DO follow courage! Wanna put that whiskey drinkin’ on hold for ’bout eight years? AFTER you finish a term or two as prez? Jus sayin’.

And for all the Pubbie morons who do NOT understand history in the least, I offer up another speech given in the very year that Schweitzer mentions, 1912. It is from ol’ TR himself. Listen to what TR has to say. Our very democracy depends upon reigning in once again the corporate fascists who would destroy this country. Our democracy depends upon it. And Schweitzer, like ol’ TR himself, makes the case masterfully! Take a listen.

p.s. Where’s jonny adams from the GF Spitoon? Hurry, jonny! Schweitzer is being “bombastic” again! bwhahahahahaha!
What OTHER governor in the country picked a REPUBLICAN running mate? Was that bombastic too, adams? BTW, jonny, Bohlinger is what the Republican Party USED to be in Montana! That was before the days of Birther Bob, Gen. Robert E. Skees, pregtested man, Pope Wendy Wharpedburpin’, Mikey Mealworm, etc. and the Seven Pubbie Mental Dwarfs! Baldy, Horny, Fundi, Shorty, Wolfy, Switchy, and Cheesey!

Geez, if the average Montanan can’t see the difference between the Pubbie Party and the Dem Party in Montana, they’re even dumber than I imagined! Guess it’s time for Dopey Reeburp to hold another one of his famous “listening sessions” again in an attempt to get back in the news. Anybody out there know of another endangered Jesus out there? Anybody? Anybody??

Better yet. Anyone know of a WOLF who ate a Jaysus statue??? Too funny. I KNOW that it’s not right to make glorious fun of the mentally deficient, but SOMEone has to do it!

        • Larry, I love the nicknames you gave the Mental Dwarfs. Can you ID them for me? They’re hilarious.

            Sure. Easy to do.

            Cheesey=the guy no one remembers!

For the young dudes who read this site. THIS is the shit you don’t learn in history class, dudes! Today, May 4, is the anniversary of the Kent State massacre! THIS is what the corporate fascists do to anyone who protests endless war for endless profits! It must not be forgotten!

After TEN long years in Iraq and Afghanistan, and ten more years to go, and the bankrupting of our country by the bushes, and NO money left for anything else, dare not to protest, young dudes! Just accept the fact that we lost and the military industrial complex won. It’s better that way. Blessed are the meek. Jesus said so. So, be meek. Do NOT protest the loss of your democracy, the loss of your freedom, the loss of your future, the loss of your country! Simply do as the coporate fascists tell you. It’s better that way.

But before they censor the net and make rock and roll illegal, take a listen to what WE used to listen to, not the shit on the radio today! Enjoy, young dudes. And learn!

My favorite version of the same song. There is no one that can make so much music with just one man and one guitar as Neil! Enjoy.

How much Plainer do you have to make it for People to understand………… Corporations are not people. I think also that the U.S.Chamber of Commerce has become too large an Organization to succeed without government regulations, that show us where every penny of the organization is coming from as well.

Example: Transparency in how Cola Cola makes its secret formula, as long as it is safe for human consumption. I don’t care about! But where they spend their money on political Lobbyists and who those lobbyists buy…. Ya I do want that transparency! I want to know about Carl Roves secret Organization of GPS crossroads, Hell I want everybody to know who they get their money from and who they pay off! Same with ALEC sponsors, Koch Brothers, I want their books of paying off folks brought into the light of day!

Term Limits too, Its about time we let the young people in, and get some fresh Ideas going!

What has Obama done re CU? Anything? Tester? Baucus? While none of them are in the unique position of having the ability to singelhandedly undo it, each could be doing a part in the overturning process, stirring up unrest, delivering fiery speeches, using their office to network with other office holders to create power in numbers.

Oh yeah, forgot they are Democrats. They are either privately in support of the ruling (and networking with other Democrats who privately support it), or they are too timid to act, fearing loss of campaign money.

Join the Democratic Party! Join it today! Become a part of the problem!

Well, we heard once again from that little known fringe party out there, the Head Up ASS Party. They are characterized most commonly by ralphing on the forum! BTW, HUAPer, please post that fiery speech by ralph nader! I’m sure that you have one, otherwise you wouldn’t belong to HUAP!

Mark, Why is it you keep coming back and spewing garbage? I never meet a man with more wrong thoughts on any matter, then you! You absolutely have no proof every time you open your mouth. Lynn just smacked you down with the truth.

Just because you call something a fact, doesn’t mean it is a fact in itself………. only a description of some Cingular Bull-pucky pulled from the insane thought process of your pooper shoot. Everyday, we are plagued by something you made up in your sleep, and hope to pass off as fact to others…….. all of whom are beneath you………… according to you!

We got you pegged as the anus you really are, Next time bring some facts, proof, evidence, attestation, confirmation, corroboration, documentation, substantiation, testament, testimonial, testimony, validation, voucher, or witness with your sorry self, or move along little jester!

We got better things to do, then listen to you!

      • Would you tone it down a little? Your writing is as juvenile as Kralj’s, and the insults a sign of a mind that cannot calmly reason through a complicated world. Are you brother-sister?

Anyway I answered your one lonely worthy point above, under Lynn’s “smackdown.”

  5. Next up, repeal term limits (I wish) Schweitzer is the best!

  6. Gabby Johnson | May 5, 2012 8:06 AM at 8:06 AM |

Schweitzer should have strengthened his argument against Citizens United by pointing out that its first victim was the super-conservative wing of the Republican party.
Romney used his superpac advantage to destroy the evangelicals’ candidates who, collectively, got more votes than Romney did. Also, a single donor kept Newt alive, which prevented Santorum for getting the big momentum when he needed it to really challenge the establishment’s Romney.
    The TEA party got snookered.

  7. Dear Governor Schweizer, Since you are term limited, please come down to Arizona and replace Governor Brewer. Brewer is an embarrassment to the state!

  8. Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers | May 5, 2012 2:42 PM at 2:42 PM |

Maher on Moronism! And he’s right! We OWN our shit! But not the Morons!

  9. Gov BS… sounds like you are for nullification. Why call it ‘bat-crap crazy’ when you see that is is a useful tool for state to claim rights within the borders. You are so very untrustworthy… A few years ago you start a fight with travel companies, then recently go to drum up tourism. You fight against 10th Amendment legislation, then go on media to brag about how the Fed is not going to make rulings in Montana (I suggest only when you are going to get to use it as a tool to brag yourself, not as a tool to protect the electorate). I am beginning to see that it is truly a dangerous place to be between you and a camera.
Montana, wake up and see the connection of dots that are playing this fool as he is not finished yet and will be headed for something more and more damaging for you.

This is what happens when relations have relations with relations! The IQ is the first thing to go!

    • Norma Duffy AKA ILIKEWOODS | May 7, 2012 12:22 AM at 12:22 AM |

Is this why your Vote is for sale Teapublican? To whoever pays you the most? Or are you gullible enough to believe what they tell you…. and you just gave it away, on Promises alone?

  10. Larry, I see you are explaining your condition. Thank you for your honest self reflection.
Norma, What is wrong with you… Seem a tad angry and over the top in accusations. Your comment is not even on the same ball-field as mine. But that just shows how the liberal brain is emotion based and when it is put to the defense you really are taxed to come back with a rational comment.

The progressive temper tantrums are being exposed by the very nature of your comments and soon, there will be a time out. Once you grow up, you will be able to handle life maturely and see that the envy/entitlement taking of others possession is not the same as working to achieve your own dreams. But then again, you have to grow your own dream… too busy wanting what belongs to someone else to see that you are capable to make your way.
This is America… A Republic, not a Democracy. We are exceptional in our ability to care for less fortunate- out of care not mandates! And as a REPUBLIC we are Sovereign, given our rights by God. Not slaved to the whim of a government and czars appointed by man.

The comment I posted was noting how the big BS is now willing to nullify fed mandates, as to when he can use that position to gain media attention. The comments that followed were without substance and without regard for the original post- deflect from truth much?

  11. Fromthecenter | May 8, 2012 7:17 AM at 7:17 AM |

To the guy who suggest the Gov is for nullification at whim, Gov is not suggesting nullification of the CU ruling by SCOTUS. He is backing a state initiative that makes a broad policy statement that the people of the state of Montana do not think that corporations are citizens and also includes a directive to the members of our Congressional delegation to support an amendment to the US Consitution to make changes that, in effect, would eliminate the effects of CU. Amending the US Consitution is not nullification, it is using the proper legal path to make change within the rule of law.
And kudos for the Governor for standing tall in this fight for our democracy.
