GOP Senator: Democratic Operatives, Not Ken Miller, are Behind Latest Ad

Dave Lewis, GOP state senator and big Ken Miller supporter, has declared a belief that the 30 second web ad contrasting Ken Miller and Rick Hill on family values (entitled “Abuse and Adultery”) has been planted by democratic party operatives. Lewis wrote:

Come on guys. There may be some smart Democrat operatives, not a contradiction in terms, who wanted to fire an early volley. Do it now and blame it on primary politics. We play rough here. Suspect everyone. Fun month ahead.

Lewis made the claim last week, on this blog, but stated no basis for it except to say that democratic operatives are “talented” and thus may have created the ad, the implication being that GOP operatives are not talented. Here’s the ad:

Doth Lewis, a Miller surrogate, protest too loudly?

Let’s examine his theory.
First, the woman behind the ad, Nancy Davis, has been active against Hill before, but not in favor of Miller. And she has a large conservative following on Facebook, counting among her friends many GOP legislators and Tea Party idiots.

Furthermore, if Lewis’s premise is correct that Democrats want to elevate Miller at Hill’s expense (which I don’t believe is correct; Hill is a lame candidate, insider, part of the problem, and thus a good horse for dems to run against) this would not be the way to do it since this video risks backfiring on Ken Miller. Negative stuff like this is dynamite and can explode in the hand of the person lighting it.

And finally, not only has Miller made no effort at all to denounce the video act in a way that would indicate he isn’t connected with it, he actually has been aping it.

Hilariously, in the last week he’s referred to himself at least twice as a”Christian”, “family man” and “small businessman” in the same breath, and to Rick Hill as a “lobbyist”, “insurance” executive” and “congressman,” comparative language taken directly from the ad. Miller clearly likes the action.

A tipster informed me today that Miller contrasted himself to Hill using these terms at a recent debate. And a new video on Miller’s website similarly uses the same message points, with Miller describing himself as a Christian and a family man (note: Miller today removed that video, for some reason).  And below is a “straw poll” from Miller’s own website. We will ignore for the moment the sad fact that Miller could only muster 61% in a vote that takes place on his own website; what’s interesting is, again, the way he messages himself against Hill:

Also, there’s something about the narrator’s voice (might it be Davis herself?) that strikes me as that of someone who watches lots of Foxnews and is an angry Tea gal (or maybe that’s just my imagination).

So I’d say its very unlikely that Democrats are behind this lovely piece of political theater. Some GOP “operative” does indeed have some minimal talent.

I’m told that all of the GOP candidates are in the process of buying TV time now. We will see what these ads look like, and then revisit this subject.

It’s pretty obvious that good “kristyeean” boy kenny boy is behind this one hundred percent! And that makes Lewis a liar! Sheeeeeit! It’s the ol’ rope a dope tactic. Kenny the kristyeean borrowed this tactic from Cassius Clay!

Look, it’s simple. If your a nobody from nowhere, the ONLY way to get a shot at the champeen and the title is trash talking! ANGER your opponent! Publicly pick a fight with him so that he HAS to fight you!

And that is exactly what this video is! It’s kenny’s version of christian trash talk! And lewis is lying his ass off to say that it isn’t!

When you’ve got the Seven Pubbie Mental Dwarfs runnin’ around sayin’ the exact same thing on EVERY issue, you’ve gotta adopt a different tactic! You’ve gotta do SUMTHIN’ to differentiate yourself from the other contenders. And that is exactly what kenny boy has done!

Anyone who says otherwise is lying their ass off!

But I do have a question for the idiot miller. Dude, you’ve got the BIGGEST f*ckin’ American flag of any of the morons running on the Pubbie side for guv. SO, I would like to know just WHAT f*ckin’ country do you think that we are LIVING in, dufus? Do you REALLY need a big f*ckin’ American flag to remind yourself just what country this is?

You’re a moron, miller. You and ALL the little flag wavers are little fascist morons if you need a f*ckin’ humongous FLAG to remind you what country this is! Doncha think? I don’t get it.

I guess Miller no longer has room to carry his flag in his Heart and Mind. Too many conspiratorial lies to hold in those areas of their bodies anymore!

Ya see, I have always found that the flag is in a safer place, when it is in my head. In that secret spot, it can never be burned, or rent or torn. The colors never fade. I save my love for fellowman in my heart, with country. There, it can never feel loss without compassion, or joy without love.

Gosh whatever happened to those moderate republicans who did the same thing…….. I can’t believe they are gone!

I could never understand why you had to wear a flag pin either, to show you were an American………

“When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross”.

Ya know, when I was a kid, we put the flag out on the Fourth of July and hardly EVER saw it again except on public buildings until the next Fourth! But now, you see the thing everywhere! And most of the time displayed incorrectly! Car magnet??

So, Kenny boy is trying to show his patriotism. Fine. But I have YET to hear ANY of these morons state for the record just what it actually IS that they love about OUR country!

Yes, that’s right. OUR country, including the things that they despise! Gays, minoritess, ghettos, blemishes, etc., etc.! Their patriotism consists of waving a flag. That’s it! Unless of course they lapse into platitudes! FREEEEEEEDUMB! They’re morons! And they HUGE flags simply reinforce that!

  2. Corey Stapleton has an ad out decrying the ‘shocking’ sky-high unemployment rate in Montana…..really?? He also used an interesting analogy of managing the piloting of a ship (aircraft carrier) and you have to be careful to also not turn too fast because crews would get hurt…so does that apply to moving too fast to cut food, healthcare and medicine to seniors, veterans and children? I can only hope?

    • Norma Duffy AKA ILIKEWOODS | May 7, 2012 12:49 AM at 12:49 AM |

We Have one of the Lowest unemployment rates in the Country, The guy is just slinging fear, like crap against a wall and hopes that it sticks! Pretty said that is what the GOP has to offer now! Just fear not jobs, just lies….

Repeat after me … Bakken, Bakken, Bakken, Bakken … It is one of the irrational aspects (there are so many) in party politics to attribute random circumstances to the party that happens to hold office (or if circumstances are not favorable, the predecessor).

But then, as King Arthur so eloquently put it, Camelot is a very stupid place

        • “Percentage of Swing Voters Declines Compared to Four Years Ago. Past surveys show this is not uncommon when an incumbent is up for reelection and voters feel they have a clearer sense of the options before them.” Pew.

What do they “swing” from and to? Tweedledee to Tweedeldum? 55% of the public is clueless (the other 46% is either inattentive or does not vote for a reason). Within that 54% I do not sense any significant “sense of options” given that there are none.

That said, can there be a more clueless person than the moderate undecided voter? If indeed such an animal had intelligence, it would be weighing issues, and seeing no meaningful difference, would refrain from voting. As it is, these are low-level marginally attentive people who are swayed by advertising.

            • And there’s the rub, in the gutter. Thanks for that, Tok.
Elections come down to the gullible clueless who ARE swayed, back and forth, back and forth, by whatever lie last popped up on the screen.
But this little ad is going nowhere. MCF or whatever it is, has their ad on You Tube — on YT, you have to look for stuff, it’s not like a commercial or even a pop-up window. The GC’s will never see this. Until named funders pay disclosable money to a PAC that buys air time, forget it.
As for the Bakken, that’s not really random in a party sense. The GOP has jumped all over it as an issue, while I hear darn little about it either way from the Democrats. It’s like they don’t want it to be an issue.
But a revolution in extraction techniques and technology, that has completely revised the energy picture, is a huge issue, especially in a modern society based on the conversion of energy to work.
Finally, about Hill’s infidelities…ever chosen wrong in a marriage? I’d say a marriage that ended with 8 years of custody war was ill-starred from the beginning.
Never mind the fact that Hill’s second go has lasted 29 years.
Nobody is going to be able to make the Sip and Dip any kind of an issue, because too many Americans HAVE had crummy marriages in their family tree.

“If you could choose between two restaurants, neither of which you had any opinions about whatsoever, and the patrons of Restaurant A were going on and on about its virtues while the patrons of Restaurant B were offering tepid endorsements, or asking you to focus on all the bad things about Restaurant A, don’t you think it’s likely that you’d be more inclined to give A your business?

I think it is. And that’s why I’m of the mind that, more than is usually the case with Presidential elections (with 2004 standing as something of an outlier), 2012 will be about which side can better mobilize its base. Undecided voters will matter in the end, of course, but they’ll vote for the candidate who does a better job of inspiring his base without alienating everyone else.”

            • 87% of all statistics are made up on the spot … True Story!

  3. This whole incident has proven to me that Ken Miller is a scum bag. And that Dave Lewis is deliousional.

  4. I have never been called deliousional before. It makes me wonder about farm boy.

No Farmboy is absolutely right. The reason the GOP can not Own the Bakkens is it’s Gov Brians plan to expand oil exploration, that made it happen! The GOP were only fighting over how much money the east could keep for themselves this last session. and how many tax cuts they could give the OIL companies

the Teapublicans were presented scenrios about how the boom was affecting the little towns on our eastern border last session………… to provide cash to towns and cities with a high influx of people, for extra police and places for people to move, and didn’t do squat!

Brian had to write emergency checks!

Republicans wanted to gut the budget, and screw the state out of Millions a year in revenue in wellhead contracts, giving more money to the oil companies. They possibly allowed a teacher to die in Sydney, because of their austerity, and stupidity!

All those veto brandings were for a reason. Brian saved the state losing Millions in revenue, Lands from being overtaken by big Co.s. Oil companies from overturning local laws, zoning Laws, Saved you little GOP folk on the east side of the state.

Let those Teapublicans open their mouths, cause Brian, and people like me will tell the truth!

The GOP just wanted the Money, after a democrats hard work……………AGAIN!

Farmboy is correct. Ken Miller is not fit for the job. Just take a look at this:

Ken Miller is truely desperate and like all other conservative rules he has broken Regan’s 11th commandment held so dearly amongst conservatives. The Miller campaign has fundamentally fallen apart and Miller’s true management competencies have been made very apparent. He couldn’t manage the State GOP budget, any of his businesses, or his very own campaign. The man of morals, values, honesty, and integrity has gone by way of the dodo! Ken Miller has no hope of ever holding another office again!

Lastly, it is almost a parody to hear him speak about his daughter, the one who wears the Dolly Parton wig, is majoring in business management! HAHA! Don’t take notes from Daddy or you will end up under investigation!

  7. If Lewis thinks he’s never been called delusional he must have forgotten about how he and his fellow republicans artificially deflated the revenue estimate as an excuse to cut food for the poor.

  8. Fantacy land. Farmboy must be an MSU grad.
