The Montana GOP Hypocrite of the Week Award Goes to…

Daines Hypocrite Award…Steve Daines, whose speech at the RNC lionized his ancestor as not being “Saved by Government” when that ancestor received a huge government handout in the form of a homestead under a federal program called the Homestead Act.

In his speech to the GOP faithful, Daines told a story about how his great-great-grandmother’s tombstone read “Saved by Grace” and certainly did not read “Saved by Government.” Zing!  Daines became so excited by the story himself he forgot which generation a Montanan he was claiming to be.  5th? 6th? Too exciting to worry about it, I guess.

The faces of the Montana GOPers in the crowd are flush with ecstasy over Daines’ tale of government aid.  As they pump their fists in the air, there is no trace of comprehension of how ridiculous they appear for missing the irony. Instead, one sees only joy and delirium.

It takes a special kind of hypocrite to trumpet government programs in a speech railing against government programs.  And that’s why Steve Daines deserves such a special award.  Get back out there on that yacht and celebrate Mr. Daines.  As you pound down the martinis and coconut shrimp, don’t waste a thought on how today’s GOP would treat your great-great-grandmother, an impoverished, immigrant widow with seven children.

JUMPIN’ CEEMENT JAYSUS! This guy is worse than I thought! He’s Mr. Dogwhistle Stick-up-ass TALKING Point! (the Native name I just gave him)

I had never heard the dude up until this point, and I gotta tell ya, we CAN’T send this moron to D.C. to represent us! I think that he’s even WORSE than Dopey Reeburp! At LEAST Dopey LOOKS like a Montanan! This dude LOOKS like mr. corporate stick up ass! I mean, seriously, watch him walk to the podium again! Does he NOT have a stick up his ass?

    This is sad.

  2. Hi-Liner

I just wasted 2 minutes of my life watching this crap. There was certainly some fist-pumping. There was also some bored blackberry checking. Yikes.

  3. Ingemar Johansson

    It gets worse than that.

Turns out Daines g-g-great grandma received stolen property.

Stolen from indigenous peoples who crossed the land bridge into America before indigenous peoples crossed a sea bridge from Europe.

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Wow! Right you are about THAT, Ingy! Treaties between nations mean NOTHING, right? Never have to the USA! USA! USA! USA!

BTW, what is all this god bless America horseshit every time a fat pubbie farts at the convention? Wierd stuff, dude. Dog whistle stuff.

  4. Davesfirstrodeo

Steve was quoted in June of 2002 saying, “I’m a 3rd generation Montanan” What is up with that?
He is either changing his family’s history for political posturing or he has no clue about his family’s history.

    • Hi-Liner

Perhaps he is confused about what that means. Maybe he thinks it means he’s a third decade outsourcer of Montana jobs.

    • Rob Kailey

Dave, I remind you, that you are writing to a crowd that will likely vote Gillan. I suggest with all good will, shouldn’t you be writing to those likely to vote Daines?

  5. Dems4MT

Kim Gillam will beat him in a landslide as long as she makes her support for gay marriage central to her campaign. Send Kim checks so she can catch up on fundraising against this Citizens United defender!

  6. Dave, he has hair, Lewis

different from hairless Dave from Billings. 2016 opens in Helena this weekend. As I remember, Cowgirl predicted it would be a flop. Now a big hit nationwide. Popcorn and cokes all around!

    • Jan Thomas

Proving what, that there are a surprising amount of racists in this country, that’s what u are celebrating?

    • D

Exactly! Thanks for buying snacks :) … supporting the free-speach.

… it’s too bad some on this site are attempting to repress the disemination of alternate points of view with baseless and libelous charges of racism.

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

bwhahahahahahahhaa! Too funny, little fella. Did someone actually try to stop your artificial dissemination?

        BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

        What a dink!

        • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

You know what they say about artificial dissemination for cows, right?

          WE STAND BEHIND OUR WORK!

          bwhahahahahahaahahahhahahaaaa!

          Ask Ingy. He knows.

I’m thinkin’ that the righties know all ABOUT bull semem! It shows in their comments!!

          • D

Larry, Your romatic life with the cows is none of our business … but good luck getting her pregnant. You seem to know your way around the insemination.

        • D

As long as people keep going to see the movie I’ll be happy … looking forward to next week’s box office results.

          The truth hurts.

            • Ingemar Johansson

Sorry, Ingy, but this lineup LOOKS LIKE AMERICA to me!

Now, what was that Pubbie convention fiasco all about? No wait. What was that Pubbie PRIMARY all about?? NEVER have so many weirdso, perverts, inbreds, Teatards, and losers been presented to Pubbie America from which to choose!

And whom did they select? A MORON MORMON!

Ingy, I feel your pain. Hell, at LEAST become an independent, dude! But for god’s sake LEAVE these nutjobs to their own devices!

                  • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

                    Whaaaaa? You don’t LIKE vajayjays???
                    Hmmm.

                    What DO you like, Ingy?

                    Don’t answer and I won’t ask!

                    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

p.s. I THINK the giant penes were WELL represented at your convention!

You’ve maybe heard of the Bull Moose Party? Well, you guys are the Bull PIZZLE Party!

                    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

OUCH! That hurt! You see, Ingy, we did you guys a favor. We elected a BLACK dude! He’s a MUCH easier target than Hillary would have been. Black dudes are easy to demonize, women not so much withOUT alienating ALL women. You guys would have had to continue the blowjob heard round the world tactic. And really, just HOW much mileage can anyone get out of a one blowjob?!

Nope, we did you guys a HUGE favor. So, you’re welcome!

But it’s time to move on. And time for a true story.

I have an acquaintance who has a boy and a girl. He’s as nazi as they come. And guess what? His DAUGHTER married a black dude, and NOW he has a mixed race granchild, and his son is gay!

It’s a new day in America, Ingy. Get with the program. St. Ronnies is dead and gone, and he AIN’T a’comin’ back. The old ways die hard, but the country is moving forward with or without you!

                • D

as per normal, you’re off of your nut screaching limp insults and bigoted remarks about Mormons.

                  • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

You REALLY wanna see off your nut? Well then, HERE’S your talking point for the day, dufus, right from the head of the GF Teatard Party, cleve looney, off the front page of the GF Spitoon.

“We’re going to be a faith-based nation again. With the leaders that we’re looking at, it’s like the bases are loaded and we hit a home run”!

THAT is nuts, little fella! WHEN were we a “faith-based” nation, little dude?

And really, WHAT do you know about the Moron religion? Please expound! You see, you don’t know nuthin’ bout nuthin’, and it shows!

TELL us in great detail just WHAT you know about the Morons!

                    • D

I hope this doesn’t give you seisure, but we are a faith based nation! … that’s more about history than anything, but 90% of the country does believe in some faith … is that what scares you.

I know Mormons have some ugly things in their church history, which all religions have … but I know also know that I do not discriminate toward everyone in the religion based on bigoted ignorant illconceived ideas.

I think I know what I need to know.

                    • Kenneth Kailey

I hope this doesn’t give you a seizure but while 90% of our nation holds some spiritual belief, our government is NOT a faith based nation. In fact, the founding fathers went out of their way to ensure we would never be an oligarchy. You really need to learn something about our real history, not the one that Palin and Faux news wants you to believe.

There is nothing wrong with believing in a faith – I certainly do. Where it becomes an issue is when a specific faith attempts to use government to dictate those beliefs to other people.

                    • D

Our founding fathers went out of their way to ensure that we would never be an oligarchy, and they assured that there was separation of church and state, … but there are still founding principles based in faith, belief in a higher power … which is obviously different from placing some kind of control with the church or other group.

Noone is trying to dictate beliefs. I’m happy we have a faith based nation.

I’ll try to find the Palin/Fox news cabal’s next historical talking points, and I’ll re-post it here … but until then I’ll be on my own

                    • Kenneth Kailey

Please list any of these “founding principles” based on faith. Fact is, most of those “founding principles” of faith idiots like you talk about were actually the result of an attempted religious takeover of our government in the late 1800…

                    • Rob Kailey

                      D, several points:

There is not one word in the Constitution that refers to a higher power. Not one. There is not one word in the Bill of rights that refers to a higher power. Not one. Many on the right confuse Jefferson’s script in the Declaration of Independence as being the foundation of a nation. No, it wasn’t. It was the breaking of an Empire. This Nation was not founded, in any way, shape or form on the principles of “faith”. That the principles of Democratic rule are shared with many strains of faith is purely coincidence, “founded” on the fact that sometimes what is good is just good, without recourse to a higher power.

To say that “Noone (sic) is trying to dictate beliefs” is, for the most part, speciously true. What those of ‘faith’ are trying to do is to legally dictate behavior to favor the dictates of their faith. The Catholic Church has been trying for half a century to limit access to birth control because it is a violation of their faith. The largest religious contributor to stopping equal rights for GBLT people is the Mormon church, based on their ‘faith’. If you can point out to me what the difference between that and Sharia law is, I’d sure love to hear your argument. Those are just two of the many examples of how those of faith willfully manipulate the separation of church and state to forward their own faith-driven agendas. I’ll make this simple for you. They are not dictating that we have to believe; they are dictating that we have to act as if we believe what they believe. So much for ‘freedom of religion’.

                    • D

First, I appreciate you guys making cogent arguments in a respectful way.

And honestly you may have me changing my point of view. My thoughts that the country was based in faith was probably more accurately derived from the “what is good is good” stuff. So, cheers, I’ll back off of this a little … although forgive me if I still hold onto the idea that these principles were born out of men of faith.

The “religion is dictating that we have to act as if we believe what they believe” arguement I’m not as convinced. Religious groups lobbying to enact laws or trying to encourage their ideas with everyone is not what I would consider dictating. They don’t set the rules, problem is when they do set the rules. The people and the courts say whether abortion is legal or if homosexuals can be married.

And I’d hope that you will not hold all Catholics or all Mormons responsible for something that their church does … regardless of whether they can dictate or not.

                    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

You got nuthin’. You’re a lightweight, just like molen and Deenut Sleaza.

                    • Dallas Reese

D, Rob has presented compelling arguments and your consideration of them is noted. I’d like to present one more regarding the US being a “Christian nation”.

Prior to the American Revolution kings/dictators ruled most of the world, especially in Europe and most especially in England. Kings/dictators claimed their power was divinely given and that it was God’s will that they (the king/dictator) ruled. Most people accepted that. Had the Founding Fathers believed that too, i.e. had they been obedient Christians, we would not have had an American Revolution as they would not have challenged the “will of God” regarding George III.

                    • D

Fair enough Dallas … I certainly don’t think that our founding fathers were obedient followers … They were proud brilliant courageous independent steam rollers. :) … I’ll still hang onto the the idea that the principles they wrote were developed out of a foundation of faith.

  7. Dan T.

Good point. Any smart candidate would stay here and campaign, talk to Montanans, and work to win. Anyone who goes and then loses the election has only themselves to blame.

    • Dave Skinner

So I guess Denise Juneau should stay home rather than do her speechification gig in Charlotte?
Never mind the convention is a networking and fundraising gig. Denise should skip that, too.

  8. concerned reader

looks like the link posted within the article leads to a different twitter account for mr daines than previously reported. exceptionally accurate blogging.

  9. Drunks for Denny

I do have to say, Steve Daines is going to be a sad replacement for our man Denny. I doubt the guy even knows the sweet taste of Fireball cinnamon whiskey, the stuffs that great legislation is carved out of.

  10. D Gregory Smith

All I could think of when I saw him walk out on the stage and then speak was:
“this man is Ed Sullivan- not much to offer, but easily- too easily- parodied”

  11. Mizoola Democrap

Gillan will surely win if she trumpets her important ideas for fixing the economy… Like legalizing gay marriage and giving out free birth control like candy. Oh yeah, and raising taxes on those greedy business owners who do nothing but make money and provide jobs. This country wasn’t founded on that crap. It was founded on free stuff!

    • Sam_R3

With informed, intelligent commentary like this, how could the GOP point of view be wrong ~snark~

  12. Kenneth Kailey

You can always tell when the Republican Party has been caught with their pants down. Idiots like “D” and Mizoola Democrap come out of the woodwork like fleas to try to suck the blood out of the American citizens. They offer nothing and attempt to tear apart anything they can so that everyone can share in their misery.

    • Yes we can! Change our president

Project much there Kenneth old boy?! The results from 2010 will seem like the good old days for libs across this state and across this country which by the way was founded on Judeo-Christian values. Steve is a good guy, he will be an even better senator in a few years.

      • larry kurtz

Judeo-christianity that extirpated and raped 52 million First Peoples while destroying their habitat: how conservative.

        • The Polish Wolf

Judeo-christianity is a funny way to say imported diseases. And I clarify that not simply to remove guilt from white people, but to emphasize that they didn’t conquer two continents because of their superiority in any way (except immunologically, I suppose); rather, through sheer dumb luck they encountered hundreds of nations decimated by disease and disruptive technology, and proceeded to take them over.

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

I’ll believe THAT horseshit when I see CEEment JAYsus shoosh down Whitefish Mountain!

      • Dallas Reese

You’re going to have to show me where in the US Constitution there’s some mention of Judeo-Christian values. Or, for that matter, God or Christian or any reference to religion whatsoever(other than the ban on a religious test for holding office). The values expressed in the Constitution are progressive values, which were a new concept at the time. Progressive values for that era and progressive values today.

      • Kenneth Kailey

Another Palin – rewriting history to suit their own needs.

Fact is, many of our founding fathers were Diests. They went out of their way to prevent us being a “Christian Nation” because many of those who came to America did so to escape religious persecution. I realise that actual history is too hard for you idiots to grasp but do yourself a favor and actually pick up a book once in a while.. I will even do some of the lifting for you –

WHINER ALERT! Look, Miss Zoola, you’re used to those Teatard sites where everyone agrees with you. You’re not USED to being challenged and laughed off the field of battle. Gee, that’s too bad. But this ain’t a wussy site, dude. You’d better come prepared to debate with FACTS in hand, not bullshit. Otherwise, sort like a Greek myth, you return home either with your ass still attached or CARRYING it! So far, you and the other dufus have gone home carrying yours! That’s what happens when you get your ass handed to you!

        Hope this helps.

        • Mizoola Democrap

FACTS? I’ve never seen you use those. You hide behind awful jokes and really, really uncreative nick names. I hope you’re not over 15. If you are…I feel so sorry for you.

  14. Yes we can! Change our president

Why aren’t people “fainting” at Obama campaign stops like they were in 2008? Why did so many secularists fall for the faux messiah? It must be confusing and discouraging to be a progressive!

    • larry kurtz

The President was at Fort Bliss today picking up the Pottery Barn shards scattered by the previous regime.

      • Yes we can! Change our president

Hilarious how he made room in his schedule for a trip to New Orleans after Romney went straight there after the RNC. Barry does not seem to be on his game these days. Pity he can’t get a court to open the sealed divorce records of his current opponent, that worked so well in the past.

Progressives don’t do well when they have to defend their ideas and policies. ATTACK-DISTRACT!

p.s. And dipstick, how do you know he’s a FAUX Messiah?????? Be specific now, douchebag. TRY to present a cogent, coherent argument that proves that O’Bama is NOT the Messiah! For you see, I happen to think he is, and I ALSO happen to think that Mittens is the Anti-Christ! And guess what? I’ll bet that MY argument will be just as effective as yours!

        BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAA!

What a moron. Jus cause you say it don’t make it true, little fella. You’re laffable.

And here’s the kicker, cupcake. JESUS WAS A BLACK DUDE! Swallow THAT bitter pill, christofascist dink!

        • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

You see, cupcake, the REALITY is that JESUS WAS A SCARY BLACK DUDE, JUST LIKE O’BAMA!

Oh how I HATE when that happens! History can suck sometimes, can’t it, cupcake? Therefore, we must re-WRITE history to fit our lily-white naratives, JUST like Deenut Sleaza has done! (and his inbred pal up north there in Kalispel)

Hmm. Wonder if mr. molen would care to come on here and debate his “movie”? Nope. No nuts no glory! AND, he’s a coward. I don’t BLAME him for not showing up here.

But let us, oh ye faithful, allow Brother Malcom to explain for all the reetards and inbreds (and molens) out there the TRVTH that God has provided for us!

          Take it away, Brother Malcolm!

Jesus was a Jew … and you might realize that, aside from Sammy Davis Jr, they are not black … I’m sorry if this ruins your narative.

… but if he was black, he wouldn’t have been a scary criminal like Malcolm X.

… and using a movie clip as evidence is making me laugh (at you) … but accepting it … using the script from Malcolm X like he’s an authority on anything except being a racist and being someone who incites violence is just idiotic.

Tell Dennybriated Rehberg that the Farm Bill is also a water bill:

That quarter-pound burger you just gobbled down? More than 600 gallons of water.

  16. Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Hey all you manly inbreds and reetards, take your teensy tiny manhoods and don’t fill a dude, but FIL-A-CHICK with that little worm!

    bwhahhahahahahahahahhahaaa!

Get it? Fil a chick! aNOTHER hard-hitting piece of hard-hitting news this a.m. in the GF Spitoon from super reeporter jon adams! But actually, this “story” should actually be on the BUSINESS page! For along with Deenut Sleaza and that Molen asshole, pandering to the inbreds has become one of the largest GROWTH industries in the country!

    http://www.greatfallstribune.com/article/20120831/NEWS01/308310029/Laurel-group-s-feed-touts-family-values-?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CFrontpage&nclick_check=1

This is real sad that this is considered news! Thank you jon adams. BTW, how DO you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning???

    • G. Mackinder

Larry, there’s something incredibly irritating about the way you attach yourself to this blog, and try to dominate the conversation with sheer volume of content.

I get the sense we agree on many issues, but you and people like Matt Koehler have this way of using new media outlets to draw an unusual level of attention to yourselves to the point where it really undermines any credibility you might have otherwise.

Despite agreeing with your point of view, I have to say your compulsive, ubiquitous presence tends to crowd out other opinions, and has become like nails on a chalkboard for me as a reader. The knee-jerk personal attacks on folks don’t help.

For me, and others who feel the same way, would you politely reduce your posting by 75%? It would help our experience here alot.

      • larry kurtz

As much as I respect Gregg Smith for his insight and honest admission, let me just say one thing in defense of LK: there should be no such thing as a passive liberal anymore or the earth haters will win the word war and Montana will succumb to red state collapse just as Idaho, Wyoming, and South Dakota have done.

GREGG AND LK: We are on the same team regardless of how our trench-mates smell after sex.

        • D Gregory Smith

I’m not asking for passivity- I’m asking for reasonable discourse.
Insults and ranting and shaming and etc. just don’t generally agree with what I believe about the best of human interaction.
I guess I’m still simple enough to hope for the best to/from people- even while trying to change the world.

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

“Larry, there’s something incredibly irritating about the way you attach yourself to this blog, and try to dominate the conversation with sheer volume of content”.

G, I have been kicked OFF every other site in the state. Cowgirl is the only site that actually ALLOWS free speech. And you’re quite wrong. I do NOT attempt to dominate the conversation. I don’t attempt to dominate ANYTHING!

Allow me to explain. We Rangers are humble, uneducated, not real sophisticated dudes. We realize that. Hell, there are TONS of folks out there that are smarter and WAY more educated than we are. But we learned long ago that WE are the only one’s that show up! Hell, many, many times as we traveled the state to confront the bad guys at meetings, etc., the ONLY people to show up were the Rangers and Jim Jensen of MEIC. Think I’m lying? Well then, ask Jim.

And we have been doing this exact same thing for some twenty odd years, showing UP when other chose not to, using our meager talents as best we could. And you wanna know something? The Rangers have ALWAYS said publicly that we will WILLING step aside and allow folks much more suited than we to take on the fight!

But G, therein lies the problem, amigo. No one has YET to come forward! Most folks lack the courage to do what the Rangers do. I mean, look at this forum for example. Norma Duffy, Rob Kailey, Kenneth Kailey, and Larry Kurtz are incredibly, courageous, intelligent people! These guys are the real deal. I have the highest respect for them. They are great.

But G, WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYONE ELSE?! It should NOT be up to four or five folks to do the heavy lifting for the lefty side! It’s time to SHAME the cowards on the left for not showing up!

And please, NEVER suggest that I do this to “draw attention to myself”. That’s just pure stupid ass bullshit, dude. The Rangers have taken on the industry thugs every chance we got! WHERE WAS EVERYONE ELSE? We never hid! Not ONCE! We’d walk into a meeting by announcing that “yes, we’re assholes, and yes, we came to pick a fight! So let’s get that outta the way and get down to business!” We would aknowledge up front our terms so as to cut through the bullshit. That’s just the way we are. We have no time for small talk.

But we were alone in our efforts. And I will GLADLY step aside and let YOU confront the industry thugs when you feel so motivated.

As for Matthew Koehler, I have known Matt for a long time. I have the highest respect for him. His courage and intellect are above reproach. He is a superb enviro, and a hero of mine. We don’t always agree, but there is no one better in the fight for forest issues. Why don’t we have a HUNDRED Matthew Koehlers?

You see, G, it’s all about showing up. If I saw others taking up the slack, I would quit in a moment. But there are none.

And one final point. The Rangers have some unique experiences that make us uniquely qualified to do what we do. You don’t GET those qualifications for free. You have to earn them. We have all paid our dues. And thus, we do what we must. We don’t expect others to do what we do. But we DO expect folks to do what they can!

        Now, what do you do?

        • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

And Jesus, G, even friggin’ Chris MATTEWS has figured it out! He’s got more nuts than MOST lefties out there!

          http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/01/chris-matthews-rnc-delegates-shouting-match_n_1848853.html

You see, G, I tell you the EXACT SAME THING I told ex congo man Paddy Williams and the Dem leaders here in GF some twenty years ago. (ask Gloria Flora and her husband Mark. they were there)

What I asked Paddy wm.s and the Dems was at WHAT point do you fight back against fascism?! And I said that THAT was the most important question of the century! And so I ask you. At WHAT point will YOU fight back against fascism? When it’s too late? Or now?

          I await your answer.

        • Rob Kailey

Larry, don’t insult me. You are still allowed to comment at my website, though I understand why you have little interest in doing so. And for the record, If we had a hundred more Matthew Koehler’s, then Dennis Rehberg’s election would be assured. He’s posted the best adverts for Dennis I’ve yet to see online.

          • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Well, for the record, I was actually FAMOUSLY kicked off many blogs BEFORE you and your brother even HAD blogs. In fact, the GF Spitoon did TWO long Sunday editorials about kicking me off. (I still have copies) Is this enough? If Jed were stil around, he would vouch for the other blogs I was kicked off. The old Missoula blogs. I can’t remember the names of them. Been too long.

But sorry, I guess that I should have said that I was kicked off EVERY original blog in Montana.

But for the record, can you name even ONE other person who merited TWO Sunday editorials in ANY state daily for getting kicked off?

            My bonyfeeds are still intact.

            • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

p.s. Enuff said about me. I don’t get into pissing matches. Not my style. For I believe that ISSUES are issues, and people are rarely issues.

I write the way I write and answer to no one. If some lefties don’t like it, HEY, it’s Montana. Take a hike!

      • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

WOw, You show up and Talk Horse apples right out the Box, Dont you G?

Totally amazes me how the right WIng Go Out of there way to just show up Here and tell us how wrong we are, without even coming to this Party with a Plan.

Larrys right, Your confused….. Have a nice Day?

        • Rob Kailey

Norma, your chaotic caterwauls are just candy for the curious. What makes you think that G. Mackinder is a right winger? D. Gregory Smith agreed with him. Are you claiming that Greg is full of horse shit too? It certainly appears as if you are. Mackinder agrees with Kralj about most things, but doesn’t like his presentation. Larry argues not only for his principles but for why he presents them in the way he does. You ponce in, understanding next to none of any of that, and proclaim that “Larry (sic) right, and your (sic) confused.)” Are you really that stupid as top not understand that Larry rubs people wrong, regardless of what they believe? It certainly seems so.

Larry Kralj doesn’t need your defense, Norma. In fact, you’re not helping him or yourself, at all.

  17. Time out

Larry Environmental Ranger maybe a relationship with a woman, man, or dog would help you feel better about yourself. Your OCD posts at: 5:29, 5:44,6:02,6:07,6:27,6:39,8:13,8:15,8:19,8:23 etc. indicate that something meaningful is missing in your life. Why do you have all of this pent up anger and ridicule? Were you hurt long ago and your heart has become hardened? There is more to life than anonymously trying to denigrate others on a blog.

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Nah. I just listened to Sharon Angle on AFR radio channel yesterday and FINALLY came to the realization that the insane nazis are actually getting elected! It’s Germany 1939, dude, or aren’t you paying attention? Didn’t you ever wonder how the Germans allowed it to happen? Are you really so stupid/complacent that you just don’t get it? Are you retarded? Maybe an intimate relationship with a chicken sandwich might help you feel better. Are you a chicken flucker??BWHHWHAHAHAHAHAAA!

You’re a funny little dude, Timey.

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

” There is more to life than anonymously trying to denigrate others on a blog.”

Really? Anonymous? How so? It seems that it’s YOU and the others that are without real names, dude. Hell, everyone knows me.

  18. Publius II

Mr. Daines should be reminded that all the RURAL Electric and Telephone Co-operatives that service many GOP rural folk was a ‘Gummint’ Stimulus, along with the Homestead Act and even the GOP fought the GI BILL after WWII, saying it was ‘Welfare’…..the GOP hypocrisy knows NO bounds…….perhaps GOP recipients of ‘gummint’ welfare will return the wealth and assets ‘built’ by that in order to help our Nation reduce the debt? Step up GOP, really.

  19. Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

What Daines and all the Republicans in Montana forget is that all the piping and ditches dug to their property to water their Farms was paid for by the US Government. And Yes thank Democrats 40 years ago for that, because they are the Party that pushed it, not republicans.

Western Montana College here in Dillon would not have survived state budget cuts either 40 and 20 years ago either, if it wasn’t for Democrats pushing to save what has become world renown as a teaching college…. Republicans didn’t try to save it.

Our little town of Dillon, just might have been another ghost town today, if it wasn’t for the US Government and Democrats!

  20. Aware and Not Stupid

What in the world are all you poor kids going to to entertain yourselves after Daines, gets elected. If you spent half as much time saying constructive things about Kim Gillen and do some real ‘talking points’ you’d be doing your candidate a real favor. This blog is the best thing to happen to Steve Daines ’cause it shows the public just how paranoid and out of touch you lefties really are. I had the honor and privilege to attend the funeral service on Friday for Joe Mazurek, you can bet Joe would NEVER have stooped this low, guess why they called him a statesman.

    • Kenneth Kailey

First, talking down to the people who comment here does not strengthen your case for Daines. Second, not everyone that comments here (or opposes Daines) is a liberal/progressive/Democrat. There is plenty to dislike about Daines even if you are a conservative.

Daines is likely to win. I will say that up front. He has money, he has the backing of out of state PACs and he is ahead in the polls. That said, it does not make Daines the best candidate for Montana.

My major issue with Daines is that he is a Corporatist. I personally see Corporatists as the single largest threat to the American political system and to our economy. I have posted thousands of pixels why I think that way and even the conservative economists are saying the same thing. If we continue to stagnate funds/wealth at the very top, the economy WILL collapse under it’s own weight. It happened in 1928 and it will happen again if we continue to go the direction we are going. Daines, Rehberg and politicians like them are the problem, not the solution.

I haven’t posted a lot about Gillen frankly because I don’t know much about her. She was not the candidate I supported for the primary and my one experience with her was brief and unsatisfying. She appeared to me to be a Helena insider and she spoke like a polished politician with platitudes and evasion. That said, there are plenty here that have shown that Gillen is more likely to support the working class of Montana than Daine will and that is very important to me. With the working class disappearing, the push toward a service economy aimed as making the very rich richer and the working class poor, I will support the candidate that is more likely to vote against the Corporatism of America.

So you can take your paternal condescension and play it to people that gobble up the Faux News crap. Leave the thinking to us adults.

    • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

I Usually don’t say anything about Kim, Cause I would hope people to be smart enough to look up the differences between her and Daines which is vast.

Kim has more education, business experience and Government understanding, then Daines could even imagine. She is a better person about treating people fairly then, Daines has also.

The very reason we feel the necessity to step on Stevie boy is he has no Issues to speak of… the man is Vague purposely and that spells an ALEC indoctrination to me.

Yep the only candidate vaguer is Romney in his Flip flops, whenever he gets pressured Too. I see noting in Steve but Puppet material… Nothing at all!

So pleas use your reverse conversation, and Psychobabble somewhere else, since I noticed you couldn’t speak to Daines strengths to prove your Point… cause he has none!!!!

  21. Havre Voter

Incredible amount of repubs around here lately , something making these folks nervous I suspect.

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

They’ve been found out. They want to return to a “faith-based” country. And THAT’S real frickin’ scary!

They think that they can compete on this site, but that’s a laffable concept. They’re idiots, and I personally enjoy pointing that out!

  22. Aware and Not Stupid

    Kenneth,
Thank you for your reasonable, respectful answer on this blog. While we obviously disagree you stated your case clearly and honestly and didn’t have to us a filthy mouth to get your point across. I can respect that. I think Daines has more to offer the average Montanan than most realize. I have known him since he was a high school kid and know his family background. While we may not like everything he’ll do in Congress I am reasonable sure he won’t do anything to embarass us morally or ethically. Yes, he has money, he did NOT come from money, he went to college, and earned his way in the business world. I do not begruge anyone who makes a living and sells stock at a profit, it’s what this country was built on, both Republicans and Democrats participate in that practice, it’s called Free Enterprise and it’s what’s made American GREAT. Yes, Daines is going to win by a nice margin, let’s give the guy a chance to do what I believe he will do well, and I know if that process even to those he disagrees with he’ll be courteous, self controlled and won’t use profanity and a filthy mouth to get his point across. Thanks again Kenneth, Larry the Ranger could take some well needed lessons from you!

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Daines is an idiot. Need proof? “saved by grace”!

      bwhahahahahahahahahahahhahahaaa

Hey, Daines, keep your holy roller bullshit to yourself! For the record, you and I do NOT share in any way ANY religious belief! Your arrogance knows no bounds! It is the HEIGTH of arrogance to attempt to foist your horseshit on others! You are a rightwing talking point. An empty suit. There is no there there.

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

p.s. And for the record, MY county is NOT one nation under YOUR god, for your god is the god of evil and fascism! Put THAT up your ass and smoke it, weasel boy! You have created a GOD in your OWN image for political purposes of pandering to the reetards to promote your own fascist agenda. And sorry, but THAT ain’t America! That’s Afghanistan!

So, Daines, stick your “saved by grace” right up your fat ASS! In THIS country, we STILL have freedom from your horseshit “religion”! Save it for the inbreds, asshole!

  23. Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

“I do not begruge anyone who makes a living and sells stock at a profit, it’s what this country was built on,”

Oh bullshit. You’v OBVIOUSLY never done a real day’s work in your life! It was flatassed HARD, PHYSICAL WORK that built this country, NOT some asshole trading stocks, dink! And it’s STILL the working man/woman that does all the REAL work in this country, while a fat ass like Daines get callouses on his fat, rich, lily white ass, and spouts nonsense about creating jobs! Other than the callouses on his fat ass, Daines has NEVER developed a callous on another part of his anatomy! Yet, he’s just SOOOO godly!!

    bwhahahahahahahahahahhahahaaa!

Yeah right! He needs to quit living off his great grandmother. She’d wack him upside the head for being such a weenie!

  24. larry kurtz

Archbishop Desmond Tutu just called for the prosecution of war criminals Tony Blair and Bush43 in the International Criminal Court as it gathers evidence to try LK’s Church of the Holy Roman Kiddie Diddlers.

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Desmond Tutu, the last real bishop after Oscar Romero was MURDERED by the nazis! You see, any man or woman of God who actually TRIES to do what Jesus said is MURDERED!

Look, it’s impossible to debate coherently with folks who just don’t understand. Anyone who has NOT read The Family by Jeff Sharlett simply cannot understand how the fascists have co-opted religion for their own purposes.

Fallujah, the new Guernica. THAT’S why the Dick, cheney, demanded that the painting of Guernica be covered up before he would speak to the UN. The Dick is evil, and he knows that the painting may have struck him dead!

  25. Kenneth Kailey

While I don’t subscribe to Larry’s assertion that the Republicans will kill those that disagree with them, there is concrete proof that they will silence them. Ron Paul was not allowed to speak at the convention and they changed the rules for delegates so that Ron Paul supporters were not allowed to vote. This is about as censurous and undemocratic as it gets. EVERY conservative should be ashamed of the antics that occured at the convension.

    • larry kurtz

Kenneth, this way off-topic but thought of you upon stumbling onto it:

There is abundant testimony to the fact that buffalo were numerous in the piedmont region of Virginia and Carolina at least as late as 1730, and in Ohio valley and Tennessee until after the close of the French and Indian war, and did not finally disappear from this central basin until 1810.Siouan Migrations and Iroquois Conquests

      • Kenneth Kailey

Thanks for the information, Larry. My daughter, who is studying anthopology and archeology lent me a book from her NA studies class about the tribes of the central US and this was mentioned there as well. I am primarily Apache (as well as Northern Cheyanne/Kiowa – mom and I still argue about which it was – and Iroquis) so I haven’t done a lot of study on the Central US tribes, but it is interesting when I run across information like this.

        • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

Right? The Representative from the Crow Nation, I brought with me during our little Ice cream social noticed you were whiter then the Irish woman( Me), he came with. We laughed and Laughed at you continually telling people you an American Indian. Good try Kailey but when a real Native American cant see it…..

          • Kenneth Kailey

Bullshit, Huffy. Not a chance in hell. First, no Representative from a Native American tribe would make that kind of joke, and the fact is, you are idiot. You are now lying out your ass.

            • Kenneth Kailey

You know.. what amazes me about your lie, Norma, is that it is so easy to disprove. Finding out if there was a Representative of the Crow Nation at the Ice Cream Social would be child’s play. If there was, it would also be child’s play to approach that person with your claim of racist activity. I am tempted to do it just to embarrass you in front of people like Bullock and Richard Turner. Sadly, I will not stoop to your level. My wife is right.. you are simply not worth it. Enjoy your racism and I will take pleasure in the fact that you have displayed your racism to everyone reading this blog.

            • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

OH no I stood right next to you there for quite some time, while you made an a-hole of yourself with Steve Bullock Buddy Boy.

People were complaining that you, weren’t giving anyone else a chance to speak to Steve, and he eventually got pulled away so he could talk to others.

And Yes, I brought down from Butte, fellow Democrat Donovan Hawk, representative for the Crow Tribe here in Montana and Washington DC… all he saw was just a sad little very white man.

He was waiting for you to open your mouth to me so he could ask for your Tribal registration card, that proves you belong to a tribe. So keep talking smack white man cuz thats all you got.

See, I’m the kind of person who brings/ drags and hogties proof to the table Kenneth, Ive gone to Washington DC and spoke with/for the CROW/Assiniboine/Cheyenne tribes on Issues that befall our state’s American native Montanans….. your just an ass who thinks he has enough blood to be something your not.

As a museum Trustee I helped Bette Hull who was the curator for several years at the Beaverhead Museum, after we were awarded a grant from the Montana historical Society for our Indian display. I did workshops with the states Museum, tribal leaders, here for several years, and my area of expertise here in Dillon was American Indian studies. I also helped Work with OPI on Indian education of our Counties schools.

This is just something I am sick of you lying about. If your an Indian, I am Indiana Jones.

              • Kenneth Kailey

No, Norma, you are again lying. Thank you, though, for giving me the name of the Crow Representative so I can contact him directly. I find it interesting that he was prepared to ask for my Native Registration Card, though. If that is true, I am curious what lies you have been telling him. I will have to ask him directly.

So you are a trustee of the Museum? I will have to ask my mom about that since she is on the board. If you have all this expertise in Native American studies (which I doubt at this point), I find it interesting that you fail to recognise that a large portion of the American Population has some Native blood.

What I really find interesting is your lie about standing next to me. You never got within 10 feet of me. My wife was ready to light into you if you had. Moreover, I hardly “monopolized” Steve’s time. In fact, I only spoke to Steve twice – once for about five minutes and once for about four minutes. After he made such a point of inviting everyone there to ask the tough questions, I wanted to know what his stance was on resource development in Montana. He did most of the talking – and the information he gave me about the current situation he is involved with was illuminating. It is too bad “candidates” like you haven’t taken the time to talk about it. It is some pretty interesting stuff. I am waiting on some information from his campaign so I can post about the discussion.

Norma, you are a fraud. I have been told by many people – including my mother – that you are a pathological liar, but I had not real experience until now. Now everything you have posted is under question. Things like… How the hell did you litagate cases without a law degree or a license? That is hinky to say the least. What schools did you attend to get all this education you claim to have? What reason to any of us have to believe a single word that comes out of your mouth?

I am done with you, Norma. You are not worth the time of day. At this point, I will deal with you like I have dealt with every other lying politician – fact checking and word of mouth.

                • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

Nice try buddy, but your the one lying and after you talk to your mom whom I know(she’s such a nice woman what happened to you?)I will be expecting an apology!

But Yes I was a trustee for two years, and Donovan will be waiting for your call.

I know you wont have the guts for that apology either!

                  • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

We already proved you are not considered Indian because you made no Issue regarding “Blood quantum” rules regarding to you in this state. So how bogus are you Mr. Kailey? your have a lilly white complexion, a celtic name and cannot prove you are eligible for membership or citizenship in any tribe or Native American nation, except your by your supposed say so.

I guess I am Indiana Jones according to your Hypothesis of Life.

                    • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

Lastly, administrative cases do not need a Lawyer just a Person who has exceptional knowledge of a subject, and mine was horse racing law, so after a while I was given that title by the California’s Horse Racing board.
Elaine the attorney I worked for had another researcher who was also not a lawyer, working on and doing cases in Federal administrative hearings as a representative of clients as well … its not unheard of at all to anyone but the uninformed, who consider themselves legal Geniuses like you Mr. Kailey.

Passing the baby Bar and working for a shitload of the countries finer West Coast lawyers didn’t hurt either.

                      About that past of mine:
Ya see I was one of the states of Californias first crop of Licensed woman trainers, and the one who passed with the highest score. I was trained by Charles Whittingham( Hall of Fame trainer) and I have been in horse racing since I was 16 years of age.

I am 55 years old now, and Horse training started at 4 in the morning and ended 1030am each day. We didn’t race horses everyday then…. just weekends because we had the better claimers and stake horses of Burt Bacharach, Fred Astaire, Nelson Bunker Hunt, Hollywood park owner Marge Everett, I worked with Willie Shoemaker every morning, Laffit Pincay, Jr, Sandy Hawley etc.

I didn’t sit on my ass and drink beer with the boys like you all day, I went to college and did interesting shit all afternoon. When I graduated from those college classes, I did something else. like working for lawyers, raising a family as a single mom, training horses myself, and then training others. I’m not the barflys your use to talking down too Kennith.

I am the professional you never became.

I have shook hands with the richest and most influential people in the world, drank beer with the biggest stars in Hollywood, and helped train some of the biggest money winning horses in History.

Yep, I like to consider myself just a regular person through all that. And I have the photos and documents to prove it

I know a bull sh*tter when I see it, cause I had to muck out a few stalls in my life and step in some shit in my daily duties. Your becoming that scum on the bottom of my tennis shoes there Kailey, and like any other day, it just dries up and falls out like you will.

FYI: Did a lot of stuff in my life, while you sat on the sidelines with whatever disability you have been milking Uncle Sam with, that has kept you from working all yours. Just saying!

Cowgirl, Larry the Ranger has been banned from a number of political blogs because of outbursts like the ones above. Will you be allowing him to continue with his ‘wisdom’?

    • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

Obviously, Your a pretty Dumb, Despicable, RW person AANS. Cowgirl not only has written blogs about Larry, but likes to use him like a dictionary of Explanations at times….. And so do I. Hes not banned on My Blog ever(Though Mine is less about Politics and more of what interests me).

If I ever meet him I plan a big hug and a cold beer to be handed him.

You are not so Important, and have a lot of Issues with the truth. Larry speaks whats on his mind and he backs it with Facts, Links, and Quotes.

He Boils down the Political stewpot of life and only gives us other commenters the meat. He just seasons the hell out of it, with the nonsense your own side spews daily.

Nothing wrong with his Zesty Conversation….. If you dont like it here…. Leave!

“How many cowards whose hearts are all as false As stairs of sand, wear yet upon their chins The beards of Hercules and frowning Mars, Who inward searched, have livers white as milk!

    • DNC ?s

Cowards and livers? Those words remind me of these questions. Will anyone from Mary Jo Kopechne’s family be speaking at the Democrat National Convention? How about Mimi Alford, will she speak? Those Kennedy guys sure had a funny way of showing their “respect” for women.

  28. Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

And why is it the Right Wing who show up here dont have the GUTS to Use their real Name when Posting????? Anyone else Know the answer to that profound “Troll calling”" they have about not giving people in Montana, there real Identity?

    Scared little People Hide?

    • Rob Kailey

It’s been pointed out before that the MT Cowgirl is anonymous. You were as well, for the longest time. It isn’t wise to follow this line of argument as you present here. Just pointing out the obvious.

      • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

Rob so you really are bored HUH? I used my twitter name since the very beginning, and that account carries my real name, what town I live in, just about everything you needed to look me up online. That’s not anonymous, thats just using an avatar.

As for Cowgirl… its her blog not yours…………… so she can pretty much do as she wants. I just post here, I don’t pretend to own the commenting section, that’s only a job for people with self importance like you!

    • Craig Moore

And why is it the Right Wing who show up here dont have the GUTS to Use their real Name when Posting?????

      Norma, you are a liar.

For starters Dave Skinner and I use our real names.

      • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

Right? Ignore your other useless allies that Have used Anonymous names her lately, and scream Victimhood, when you know I wasn’t talking about you.

All alike, you men. You only want the satisfaction of being through with us first, that’s all. So far I’ve had the good fortune of beating you to it.

So I am heartless, and a liar.

It is pathetic to see how dealing with a smart woman is a crutch for so many males who wish to remain lazy, morally irresponsible, etc.”

            • Rob Kailey

Norma, I’m not a big fan of the term “manhater”, but it was coined for a reason. Anti-feminists such as yourself, who think all men the same and beneath your gender, do no service to men or women. You serve only your own defensiveness. You are a sexist. Of that there is no doubt.

You claim that only women have the right to judge the sexuality and morality of the behavior of other women. You claim that you know the motivation of all mens as we are all the same, and that motivation is what you say it is. Those are your words, Huffy. Run from them all you like, but you wrote these things. Own them.

For the record, It’s never a good idea to claim someone else is lying when they use your very words.

        • Craig Moore

Norma, to be honest, I don’t know what you are screaming about most of the time let alone the reason for your intemperate outbursts. That being said, your all inclusive statement was a lie. You know it, and I know it.

As to your claim that all men are alike, I guess that includes your son who seems to use an alias when he comments here.

          • Craig Moore

I’m in your conversation because you dragged all conservatives into it. As you wrote:

And why is it the Right Wing who show up here dont have the GUTS to Use their real Name when Posting?????

Now I noticed you dodged how you dragged your son into this with your comment, “All alike, you men.” Is he not a man, and BTW, why does he use an alias to comment here? I thought you were rather negatively judgmental about such participation given the point where I jumped in to call you on your lie.

.The most detestable wickedness, the most horrid cruelties, and the greatest miseries that have afflicted the human race have had their origin in this thing called revelation, or revealed religion.
      – Thomas Paine (FOUNDING FATHER)

        • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Dave, any thoughts on the convention? Pretty bizarre huh? What did you find of merit in ANY of the speeches? BTW, marco rubio is a little nothing man, and HE’S the best you got. So, what say you?

          • Dave Skinner

Larry, I’m going to presume against my expectations that was a level question:
I really liked Condi Rice, Marco Rubio, and Susanna. Marco really pushed my buttons.
Also kind of got a kick out of Old Hairy….but I’ll admit he was pretty, um, how do I say this, um, “ah”some. Did have some pretty good zingers, just too long to remember and deliver them. Kind of sad, I’ve always liked Eastwood and his films, so I don’t like to be reminded his meter is ticking.
Romney didn’t turn my motor over. He’s just not Mister Personality. But, I was happy there wasn’t so much on the social issues and way more on the economy. And you have to admit that even Mitt nailed it with the remark about oceans and healing versus “you and your family.”
I’m kind of looking forward to the DNC, if only as an intelligence test.

            • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

But where was the conversation about the economy Skinner? The Whole GOP convention was one, big, angry old man, Obama Bashing, Scarefest! Nothing about how Romney would turn the economy around! Not a single issue given anything but a gloss over?

Your side had no new Ideas, Wouldn’t speak to the problems we have now, and they want America to trust them? LOL

            • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Well, it actually was a serious question. For you see, I’m trying like hell to understand your demented minds.

I listened to most of the convention, and I was amazed how far off kilter the Pubbies have become. I’m at a loss to explain it.

            • Kenneth Kailey

Personally, Dave, I see the convention as (almost) a complete disaster. The voting in planks that are clearly homophobic and religiously centered will not help in the polls. Ryan told so many outright lies during his speech that even Faux news claimed he should be awarded a gold medal for dishonesty. Even Clint Eastwoods rant to an empty chair backfired spectacularly – in fact, many are questioning whether it was payback for the Republicans claiming his Superbowl ad was an anti-Republican political stunt.

About the only thing that was positive that can said about the convention is that Ann Romney came off sympathetic and Romney appeared a little less robotic when he was talking about his Dad and Mom’s relationship. It remains to be seen if this convention produced any lasting results. My personal opinion is that it hurt the Republicans more than it helped.

  29. Aware and Not Stupid

Yup’ time for a new post Cowgirl and for poor ol’ Larry to get back on his meds! I’m off to do something constructive with my time and head to Butte to bid farewell to my old pal’ Jim McGarvey! How fitting that Jim will be laid to rest on Labor Day!

      • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Here, since Jim is no longer here, I’ll do it for him.

When the one percent does NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF THE WORK, I tell them that they are INDEED entitled to ninety-nine percent of the wealth!

It’s called fairness, it’s called justice, it’s called LABOR, dude! Tell Jim that the Ranger says hi!

  30. Kenneth Kailey

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you to Norma Duffy, a Democratic Candidate for Representative.

I made a statement about following a Native spiritual tradition. I never claimed to be a pure blood Native, in fact, I never even claimed to be registered. I am 1/16 (meaning I can’t get registered). I never claimed to raised Native. I have never claimed to even know all that much about Native Traditions (though I have tried to study as much as I could from whatever sources I could).

Enter Norma. First – without knowing anything about my background or ancestry, she makes a claim that I am 1/200 Native. She goes on to claim that she is more Native than I am. She begins to make disparaging jokes with others about her being more Native than I am. She then (allegedly) involves a Native American Representative to laugh at how I am not Native American enough.

This is Herr Duffy. This is a woman that wants to represent you. This is someone that wants to wear your label and make laws. Be afraid… be very afraid. Hopefully you can pass her purity tests when the time comes.

    • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

You been Implying your *ss off that you are an Indian on this site for the last couple of Months.

Telling lies, stretching the truth, and whining….. whah waah…. I dont feel for you, You got caught and now your calling me a Nazi for it????

      Go Figure!

I guess you had a talk with your Mom also, Since your bogged to a crawl with that load in your pants?

Why this insane, vein-popping determination that it’s impossible, IMPOSSIBLE that a female who actually has a life and a mind… cant possibly know more then your ass Kailey?

Cause this is all your arguments comes down too…. a woman who wont cooperate with your insanity.

And oh, your painful attempts at wit. Clearly you think your hot sh*t on a stick. I do agree with the sh*t part though, and I definitely have my suspicions about the size of the stick.

          • Norma Duffy (@Ilikewoods)

I ran for office without your Opinion, and your vote Kailey, because I and others on this planet are not ruled by you word alone Rob.

There you go again setting yourself up, as “President of Opinions,” again when its Obvious I and others have our own, I am not swayed by your crapbath for words Rob!

            • Rob Kailey

We’ll see what voters think of your character come November. But you are owed thanks for giving folks in Beaverhead county a very clear choice of who to vote for.

      • Kenneth Kailey

I haven’t been “implying” anything, Norma. I have stated up front that I have some Native blood and I have spent the better part of 30 years learning more about it. I don’t give a damn whether it is enough for your purity test. Getting registered means even less to me because I never intended to take advantage of it financially. I simply wanted to know more about it. Following the spiritual path I have chosen is A) my choice and B) a direct result of my learning more about that side of our family’s racial background. I make no apologies for that.

Once again, you bring up your gender. You really don’t realise that no one cares about that except you. I don’t care that you are female. Being an idiot is gender nuetral. You have that one covered nicely.

What you fail to realise in your ranting is that I have led you down a path to show others your ineptitude, racism and general dislikable character. You have no effect on my life and I really could care less what your opinion of me is. What I do care about is that a person like you never sits in a position of power in politics. You have made an ass out of yourself trying to “prove” I am not Native enough to follow a Native path and in the process you have not shown this “fellow Democrat Donovan Hawk” as being a very nice human being either. You will never see this and I really don’t care. What matters is how others veiwing this conversation see it.

      • Kenneth Kailey

The other thing you fail to realise, Norma, is that there is now a written record of your attitudes for anyone to see. I (and others) can (and have) printed off your statements, in your own words, so we can show others – our neighbors, our coworkers, our friends – just how unsuited for political office you really are. The truly sad thing about it is that Rob tried to warn you about it and you attacked him for it. Unlike Rob, I have no ideology sympathy for you. I think you are a nutcase and I disagree with your ultra nutcase stances displayed on these pages. Unlike Rob, I do not think there was ever a chance for you to make a good legislator – I thought you were too unstable from the onset. You see, I am not running for a political office. I don’t have to convince others that I am “right” and others are wrong. I only attempt to explain my point of view. If people accept that, great, if not, it is no skin off my ass. You, on the other hand, NEED people to agree with you – at least enough to vote you into office. Given what you have said on the pages of this blog, and the way you present yourself, I personally think you stand about as much chance of getting elected in Beaverhead County as my pet dog. I know, you will tell us all how you will win overwhelmingly…. but we will see what happens in November. Until, I have some pages to show my neighbor…

          • Rob Kailey

Actually, I had a very good day.

I remind you, yet again, Norma Huffy, that your behavior online reflects on and influences Democrats both on the ballot and off. You’ve made this all about you against the Kaileys. It isn’t, and never has been. You keep wailing about self-interest. Examine your own, because you’re doing harm to those who would do the right thing, who would do good.

  31. Cowgirl

Friends, when we don’t treat each other with respect and instead express our views with personal attacks we miss out on some great discussions. We are here to discuss issues, not each other. There are commenters here who are adults and some who are children. The children may be temporarily suspended at any time without notice if this keeps up. Thanks for your help and comments, Cowgirl

    • Larry Kralj, Environmental Rangers

Does that mean I have to be nice to Ingy? I’m trying, I really am. But some folks are just unEDucable! UnREACHable. But I seriously think that Ingy simply enjoys his role as devil’s advocate too much. He couldn’t possilby believe all the nonsense he posts, could he?

    • Rob Kailey

For the record, electability is, itself, an issue. So is the ability of candidates to inspire voters with apathy, disdain for the process or enthusiasm for candidates and/or party. As issues they are worthy of discussion, especially within the Democratic party and most especially with Democratic candidates.

We all know that Republicans walk pretty much in lock-step. The very ones who last year were claiming they would never vote for a Mormon, or a RINO or Romney specifically for a variety of reasons will blacken that oval for him in November, and all the coattails he casts to Rehberg, Hill and down ticket Republicants. They’ll do so because the only thing they fear more are the Democrats and that un-patriotically hued ‘boy’ in the White House. When Democrats behave like the very caricature of their fear, the ‘Publicants solidify ranks and we break our own. Romney will likely win Montana by significant margin. He’ll lose the general, and we’ll carry on. That isn’t my concern. I’m concerned for the candidates locked in close races in this state, Jon Tester, Franke Wilmer, Steve Bullock, John Vincent, Kim Gillan. Other Democratic candidates behaving badly do those folks no service at all, and that is an issue worth discussing. That discussion is long overdue.

Unless one defines “civility” as ‘acquiescence and agreement’, then I have tried very hard to remain civil here. The call for respect, on the hand, assumes that one should respect the person offering response and rebuttal. I reiterate that respect is not owed or earned, and certainly not afforded by demand. It is a gift, from one person to another. Before taking harsh action in comments, I would hope that is kept in mind.
