Gross Stupidity

A new front on Rick Hill’s War on Women has come to light.  Congressman Hill told an anti-choice group that a woman should be forced to notify her husband before getting a legal abortion. He believes a woman’s husband should also have the right to “intervene.”

That would be a major set back for women’s rights.  Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Malawi, Morocco, Nicaragua, Syria, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates all have laws which require that an abortion first be authorized by the woman’s husband.

Hill made his views on the subject known in a questionnaire he filled out during this election cycle for the National Pro-Life Alliance.  You can read the survey here.

The questionnaire also makes it clear that the Congressman supports criminal penalties for the legal termination of a pregnancy, even in cases of rape and incest.

There are, shall we say, more than a few folks that I refer to as wslking, talking poster children for abortion roaming around out there. And why is it, that all too often, the people who shouldn’t have any kids, have so damned many?

I was watching Montana Focus on PBS tonight, and Rick Hill STILL cannot seem to answer the question on will he allow a WOMAN to choose what she’ll do with her own body. Hill stands on ‘pro-life’ without any deviation at all, so
we can assume he’ll stand with the Tea Party Taliban on those issues as his ‘silence is consent’ when it comes to womens rights. Has he ever answered the ‘Equal Pay for Equal Work’ question and work he support the Ledbetter legislation signed into law, considing he was a US Congressman? Maybe other female Congressional representatives should ‘earn less’ so – like Mitt suggests – they can run home and get supper ready, right?
