Gun Group Endorses Candidate Who Suggested A Bullet Would Take Care of Moderate Republican

Yesterday, after the Great Falls Tribute Great Falls legislative candidate J.C. Kantorowicz was heard suggesting a bullet would take care of slightly more moderate GOPer Steve Fitzpatrick, Montana’s resident gun zealot Gary Marbut sent out an email missive to announce that he was endorsing Kantorowicz.

Kantorowisz didn’t deny saying this,  explained to a Great Falls Tribune reporter that his remarks were made at “almost 6 o’clock in the evening.”  He was extremely hungry given that late hour, and so his threats on others lives must be excused, thereby adding “hangry” of the all time worst excuses made by politicians, including “wide stance” and “hiking the Appalachian trail.”

The TEA partier also implied that his public statements on how a bullet might take care of someone he disagreed were not as bad as those who recorded him making the threat:

“I won’t deny I made the comment … but when you’re tired you’re not even thinking about something as illegal as taping meeting conversations without consent or knowledge.”

Marbut runs an outfit called Montana Shooting Sports Association, a group he formed to compete with the NRA which he views as too liberal an organization.  He wants guns everywhere, and is the force behind bills like guns in schools, bars, and churches. But it’s crazy stuff that even Montanans, who are gun purists, don’t really go in for. Marbut has called for Montana secede from the Union because the Brady Act passed, and is a promoter of the militia movement.  As Crooks and Liars reports,

Marbut wasn’t merely involved in the militias — he also played footsie with Christian Identity activists, running his columns in a white-supremacist “Christian Identity” newspaper, along with a related militia magazine, the Sierra Times.

Subject: Endorsements – legislative candidates for 2016 Primary Election
To: Gary Marbut <>

Dear MSSA Friends,

I have just posted endorsements for candidates for the Montana Legislature at:
This critical information is now in your hands.  I have spent months assembling and compiling the information necessary to bring this to you.  Now it is up to you to act on this.
The candidates endorsed are clearly the best choice to represent gun owners in the Montana Legislature.
Because of possible constraints under Montana campaign laws, I am not sending this link and information to any candidates listed as endorsed.  You must seek out and notify the candidates.  You.
Please act now to help these candidates.  I think it was somebody as ancient as Plato who said, “You may ignore politics, but politics won’t ignore you.”  You have a little over a month to get these good candidates elected in the Primary Election in early June.
Make it happen!

  1. Is there a place in Montana that breeds people like this? Maybe a place called Dumbshit, Montana 59000?

  2. One year ago, the Republican Party displayed for everyone their unreconcilable differences in a hearing before the Senate State Administration Committee. The right-wingers should fold their tents and retire from the battlefield, declare victory and create a new party for themselves. They’d have a lot of fun choosing a name. I bet Cowgirl readers might even have sugestions.

  3. O dear Krishna! Who Cares who or what Mr. Marbut endorses, he is such a lesser God these days.

  4. Bullet Ballots, really smart jack ass teabaggers!

  5. Who’s the man in the picture: J.C. Kantorowicz, Steve Fitzpatrick, or Gary Marbut? Sorry, but I don’t know what any of these people look like.

    • A sure sign of spotting a loonie in the crowd is the guy who still wears the same style of wire rim glasses that he wore back in the 1970s.

  6. Montana Shooting Sports Asso. is the local version of the NRA. Both are obviously part of Satan’s army sent to spread death and destruction among Earthlings but especially among Earth greatest parasites, Americans.

Reed Marbut is a crazy, insane subhuman that needs a gun to prove he is a man. He is really a coward.

Yes, Gary Marbut has small hands. He packs a gun everywhere because he is a paranoid wingnut. When you see him avoid him at all costs because he is very gun happy.
